But he's not playing as a CHF. I think our traditional notions of positions on the field, and expectations of those playing them, are increasingly irrelevant. Lloyd is a case in point.

@AussieRulesBlog - Yes I understand he has a new role to play but he is still expected to kick goals even from CHF. Brown, Riewoldt & Buddy all spend time up the ground but they still kick goals...

I think you're misunderstanding Matthew Lloyd's role Jermayn. He can't be judged in terms of goals kicked. The coach is demanding more of him, and it's not about possession count either. It is difficult to see from TV coverage, but he's spending more time up the ground than would have been expected with out-of-form Lucas and Neagle and injured Gumbleton. I don't think you'll find too many Bombers fans writing him off quite yet.

The draw was definitely all that either team deserved on the day: neither side played more than a half of football. As much as Richmond were good in the first half: North were terrible. I understand what Rawlings was saying though: no supporter goes home happy from a Draw: except Mr and Mrs Rawlings...

This season Riewoldt may be a better CHF pick but what about overall? Both Riewoldt & Brown have been around for a similar amount (early 2000s). Or is it a case that Browns legacy has been improved by his 3 premierships?

Extra time for a draw? What a joke! He just is trying to improve his media standing by getting people to mention his name with the crazy idea. Draws are fun and if the team is in the race to the finals, it just adds to the intrigue.

I think yes Dogs have the pace to worry the Saints (been stretched when played fast teams - Lions & Essendon) and time will only tell...

Have to say Riewoldt is the best CHF this season. Has to be some sort of Brownlow chance. "Buddy" has probably been one of the disappointments of 2009, but he's not alone in the brown & gold.
We have Tigers caretake coach, Jade Rawlings, calling for "extra time" instead of the draw. Surely, if that was the case, they would've lost.
Saturday night will find out if the Dogs can be considered a real serious threat for the flag with "Kosi" hurt & probably on report.
