I think it was more that O'Hailpin incident was his first warning where as Fev has had a few warnings. Plus this was only a dust up between two team mates on a training field, this has happened numerous times in other clubs/codes, nothing compared to what Fev has done and allegedly done over the course of his career..

Also the latest rumor I have heard about Fev at the Brownlow involved some indecent actions towards Rebecca Twigley (and if what I have heard is true, I am glad he is gone) which could explain why Judd decided to no longer back him (and allegedly give the me or him ultimatum).

As for Rischitelli, he has been offered up as a trade a few times now and every time has stated he does not want to leave, maybe he just really like playing/living in Brisbane.

Maybe that's why Rischitelli didn't want to go there. To me its not a good sign when players want to avoid particular clubs.

I think its got a lot to do with Chris Judd personally, he is a very dominate figure at Blue Land and what he wants, he gets....
May be an article in that.

Interesting to know why Carl off-loaded Fev, yet kept O'Hailpin after his tantrum last year.

@Geaghs - i did read that rumour but apart from the fan who said it, I have yet to hear anything else about it. I heard that Bradshaw failed the fitness test that Carlton put them through yesterday.

In regards to Cloke & Fisher, some players look good in the seconds (VFL, WAFL etc) but they just cannot take that next step. Carlton need to pull a rabbit out their hat for them to make the finals again next year. What about Robbo and or Nathan Brown finding a third club with their low draft picks?

How's this for a juciy rumour reported on the Fox Sports Draft Blog

"Meanwhile, a Melbourne radio station is reporting Bradshaw has 'retired' and still may end up at a Melbourne club through the pre-season draft. Carlton were the team mentioned. Perhaps that is the reason the deal went through in Brisbane's favour today."

Anybody hear this one?? (and yes I am hrasping at straws here :P)

Maybe mate, but with the news that is breaking now about Fev allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on Brownlow night (and Carlton knowing about it) I am not to sure how much game time he might get for the Lions.

And I am actually glad we have decided to take a stand, our club as become a bit of laughing stock due to both on and off field antics of late so I am happy to bear a bit of pain to get the right club culture back. And with so much youth running around, I don't want one sour grape ruining the whole bunch.

Our Forward Line will be weak but it's not going to be that bad, Cloke (5 in the VFL Grand Final and looked quite good) & Fisher (played well in the VFL all year) can step up out of the VFL (I actually thought both these guys were going to get traded, they are probably lucky that we got rid of Fev). Waitey back from injury can go forward to (especially if Henderson is a defender which I am sure I read somewhere that he is).

I will agree with you on our defense, it's been horrible for about 5 years and by the looks of it, it will probably be bad for another 5.

I have now updated the post which will list every club on what they gained and lost during the trade including their picks for the up and coming draft.

@Geaghs, your just grasping at straws mate...

Carlton along with Hawthorn are the big loosers of the week as I think both teams are worse off after their trades. Carlton now have no forward line and have not strengthen their weak defense and Hawks lost depth in Kennedy & McGlynn and a forward foil in Williams and have no draft picks, way too much in getting Burgoyne. Plus do not forget they have no ruckman with Bailey out with a knee and Campbell retiring mid week.

Brisbane indeed were the biggest movers and now have depth unlike this year. Wonder where Bradshaw will play (CHB??).

To be honest I also like Sydney this week, yes they lost Jolly but they picked up Seaby & Mumford which will be out to prove themselves and Seaby can play forward. Kennedy & McGylnn will also provide great run and their midfield looks better which will allow Goodes to play CHF.

And I forgot about Hampson & Warnock as well in the ruck which means we can push Kreuzer forward. So all in all, it's not great but it's not that bad either.

All I can say is that we really must have wanted to get rid of Fev. And I suppose any deal is better then having him sit on the sideline and not play for us next year while still paying him. Hopefully we use pick 12 quickly this morning to pick up a forward or it could be another long couple of seasons.

On the up side we now have plenty of Money under the salary cap to keep Walker, Murphy, Gibbs, Kreuzer. In a copule of years time we will have a fairly dominatn midfield. And with Cloke, O'Hailpin, Betts, Garlett, Yarran, Fisher, Waite we still have an alright options for the forward line, nothing special but it will have to do.
