This weeks question is inspired by the Wimbledon tennis championships that start this week. Heard something interesting this morning that said it won’t rain now that they have a centre court roof.
So, which player did you trade that thought was a winner, but wasn’t, & which player did you consider to be no good, but has taken off??
Dream Team Wars
If you would like your Dream Team reviewed or have questions on your team, please include them in the comments below.

Matthew Pavlich has found some Dream Team form after a quite start to the year
Royal Knights defeated Dorkers by 148 points
Ariana’s “Royal Knights” backline & half the midfield look like the stock market with a sea of red. Ryan O’Keefe, Steve Johnson, Matthew Pavlich, Jimmy Bartel & Aaron Sandilands were her best.
For Michael, Joel Corey, Pavlich & Justin Sherman were his best. Three players got the Steve Waugh nineties, but the big scores seemded to be the difference between the two teams.
Germinators defeated Nambucca Axemen by 102 points
Stars right across the board for Jermayn’s “Germinators” this week, with Paul Chapman, Corey, Pavlich, Johnston, Greg Broughton, Lindsay Gilbee, Brendan Goddard, Hamish McIntosh & Ryan Griffen all scoring over the ton.
If he was playing Ariana, half of them would score 50. There was a couple in the nineties, but with a man short, that’s a good score.
For Deano, his forward line fired, but his backline went missing. Mitch Morton, Nick Riewoldt, Scott Lucas & Aaron Davey all starred down forward. Other goo players were Bartel, McIntosh, Griffen & Jordan Lewis.
Deano would have to be very disappointed in Sam Fisher & Andrew Mackie’s performances.
Diamond12 defeated Great Izzacs by 175 points
Things for my boys were looking good after the first half of the split round. But, Johnny’s “diamond12” ran away in the second week.
Only Pavlich, Corey Enright & Lewis topped the ton while four scored in the nineties. Johnny played with 2 short as well which showed the other 13 somehow pulled him over the line.
For my Great Izzacs, Michael Doughty, Mark LaCras & Darren Jolly were the best players & we had 4 in the nineties. But, most of our problems are still in the midfield. The selectors will be scratching their heads this week.
Round 13 Dream Team Wars Matches
Next week, the match of the round is Jermayn’s “Germinators” up against a tough opponent in the “Woftam Wasps”. The Wasps have only lost one game this season & Jermayn’s team has to be as consistent as round 12.
Deano’s “Nambucca Axemen” have a battle to stay in the eight against “Frazer’s Flames”. The Flames have a better percentage & with the 8th placed “Mandurah Mob” playing the 15th placed team next week, Deano needs a win.
Ariana’s “Royal Knights” play “Leeming Lightning” & an upset win by the Lightning would change the bottom half of the eight. Ariana would’ve lost if they played this week.
Michael’s “Dorkers” are easy favourites to beat the “Carlisle Cobras” while Johnny’s “diamond12” should account for the “GoldCoast Clubbers”.
My “Great Izzacs” take on the “Greenfield Giants” & we give ourselves a huge chance. They’re playing so short & some players won’t score the points they did last week.
Spill your guts on your Dream Team
Please let us know about the going ons with your Dream Team side. Hear are some questions we would love to hear about.
- Are you happy with your team after 12 rounds?
- How many trades do you have left?
- Who you looking to trade?
- Who are you happy with?
- Who was your captain? and did they perform or where you stuck with Ablett jnr?
- If you have Jack Ziebell who will you trade him for?
- Did you get caught out with any withdraws due to split round?
- Have you traded for any players who turned out to be a dud?

It was touch and go with my battle with Deano this weekend! At the start of the Freo/ Geelong game, he had a 500 point lead and then with Ablett jnr playing quite and as my captain I thought I was in trouble.
I got rid of Ziebell two rounds ago and im glad I did it before he injured himself..
My forward line continues to struggle to have everyone playing every week. I have Pavlich, Johnson & Chapman who play consistent but with having Yarren, Franklin, Ballaynte & Krakeour I have an inconsistent forward line.
I only have 7 trades left, so will have to sit tight and wait a few more rounds before I upgrade a few players. These may be Hill, Masten (whos finding form at last) & Sidebottom.

Yeah wasn’t a fan of the split round purely for the fact that I had to wait till the second week for a result

I did not mind that, think its hard when trying to select your team 14 days away. One week in footy is a long time and two weeks?? Lifetime…
What will happen when we have bye’s with the Gold Coast??
