This weeks question is inspired by a friend of mine who, like me, got sick & tired of carrying Magpie Paul Medhurst. We both dumped him only for him to play on the weekend against the Dockers & score 93 points.

Is there any player you’ve been dying to drop, then drop, & he hurts you for doing it??

Where you like Craig who finally traded Medhurst who then comes into the side and gets 90+

DreamTeam Wars

Ariana’s Royal Knights defeated by Leeming Lightning by 26 points

Best players were Gary Ablett, Aaron Sandilands, David Rodan & Dane Beams. Suffered with Dean Cox out, but wouldn’t be the only one for sure. Also not to be the only on with Matthew Pavlich, who went down with the calf injury.

Otherwise, the forward line showed nothing of previous weeks.

Jermayn’s “Germinators” defeated “Woftam Wasps” by 53 points

Best were Cat trio Ablett, Paul Chapman & Joel Corey, plus Brendon Goddard. Three of the best ten of the week will help anybody.

There were also four nineties, but is Lance Franklin becoming a real liability??

Deano’s “Nambucca Axemen” defeated “Frazers Flames” by nearly 500 points

Only Aaron Davey, Jarryd Roughead & Patrick Ryder scored over the ton & with four nineties & pretty consistent scoring, it’s unfortunate he didn’t play a higher team.

Johnny’s “diamond12” defeated by “GoldCoast Clubbers” by 23 points

Martin Mattner, Roughead, Bryce Gibbs & Rodan were the best. Despite the Cox/Pavlich syndrome, you’d have to be annoyed when the backline kills your forward line.

Michael’s “Dorkers” defeated “Carlisle Cobras” by 10 points

Corey & Leigh Harding were the only best players in what looked to be a juggle for the best emergencies that saved him.

My “Great Izzacs” lost to “Greenfield Giants” by 79 points

Jason Gram, Brad Johnston, Jed Adcock & Quentin Lynch were the best, but when you’re already 2 down, & two more pull out, that really hurts the chances. Budgets are tight, trades are low & our run for the eight is almost gone. This will go down as the worst team I’ve ever had.

Next Weeks DreamTeam Matches

Next week, it’s 1st .vs. 2nd with the “Royal Knights” taking on the undefeated “Sheryl’s Saints”. Forget St Kilda .vs. Geelong, this is the big clash of the season.

Other matches look foregone wins with the “Germinators” .vs. “Greenfield Giants”, “Dorkers” .vs. “Waikiki Whackers” & “Diamond12” .vs. “Frazers Flames”.

Unfortunately for me, I’ve got “Woftam Wasps”, so I hope Jermayn softened them up for me.

Spill your guts on your Dream Team

Please let us know about the going ons with your Dream Team side. Hear are some questions we would love to hear about.

  • Are you happy with your team after 13 rounds?
  • How many trades do you have left?
  • Who you looking to trade?
  • Who are you happy with?
  • How did your captain go and where you stuck with Cox or Pavlich who was out injured?
  • Did you get caught out with any withdraws?
  • Have you traded for any players who turned out to be a dud?

Meet craigeyles

Born in Warragul, West Gippsland, Victoria. I’m married with 2 beautiful young girls & a cat (Hirdy). One is at school & the other has autism. I support Essendon but I’m not the one-eyed feral type. Played footy for 1 year in under 15s. Was roped in, actually, as my brother was in the team & they were short of players. Terrible team, mind you. Coach had his sons in the midlfield & they were dreadful. What I do?? Not a lot, unfortunately. Cutting a long story short, illness for 24 years this year (ended footy career) & Johnny’s “workplace” laws forced its hand even more. Love to work, but unfortunately part time is the go these days. Now, spend my time doing community radio sports show on Saturdays & wife suggested I build excel programs on sports leagues & other calculations. Enjoy my “twittering” that I recently discovered.

  1. Jermayn Says:

Yeh I traded Higgins who was ‘struggling’ with his groin and then I traded him for Franklin and since then, Higgins has continued with many high scores and from memory Franklin has only one 90+ score….

In regards to the other questions.
    - 7 trades left
    - Happy with my midfield but not happy with Forward line (especially with Pav’s injury)
    - I was stuck with Cox & Pavlich but was lucky enough to get over with a win.

  2. Princess of the Cats Says:

I must say I didnt do too well last week with my team – I lost….

  3. Jermayn Says:

You cannot win them all Princess..
