Jack Grimes with a massive score of 140+ is yet another young gun for the Demons.
This weeks question comes after my team’s poor showing this season & yet pulled off a win this week. Have you ever felt your team needs a lift, refuse to change it, & somehow win, do you leave the team unchanged the next week?? I know I’ve got to fix the midfield, but what about your thoughts??
DreamTeam Wars
Should I start with what could be this year’s upset of the year?? It’s rare, so why not. My “Great Izzacs” had an upset 15 point win over 3rd placed “Woftam Wasps” thanks to Jermayn softening them up for me.
Brad Johnson, Quentin Lynch, Jason Akermanis, Jed Adcock, Darren Jolly, Shaun Higgins & Scott Stevens all scored tons. Great contributions all round after calling out this team last week. Craig Bolton & Andrew Collins can be excused after returning from injury.
Ariana can thank me for for keeping her “Royal Knights” in 2nd place after “Sheryl’s Saints” defeated her by 236 points,
Jimmy Bartel, Chris Judd, Ryan O’Keefe, Sam Gilbert, Gary Ablett & Dane Beams were her ton scorers. Some good scorers in there as back up, but again without Dean Cox, & the late withdrawal of Steve Johnson, what else could Ariana do??
Jermayn’s “Germinators” are now in touch of a top 2 spot with a 240 point win over the “Greenfield Giants”. Paul Chapman, Alan Didak, Ablett, Greg Broughton, Ryan Griffen & Lindsay Gilbee were the tonners. Broughton continues to surprise me while the forward line looked shaky without the contributions of Chapman & Didak.
Deano’s “Nambucca Axemen” had a big 333 point win over the “GoldCoast Clubbers”. Jack Grimes, Josh Fraser, Joel Selwood, Griffen, Shaun Higgins & Jordan Lewis were the one tonners. Grimes had to be this weeks best in my book. Kevin Sheedy put the mozza on Danny Meyer this week after raving on about him as a trade. If there was a weak spot in his line up, it could be the back line.
Michael’s “Dorkers” had a had a massive 549 point win over “Waikiki Whackers”. Selwood & Joel Corey were his only one tonners, but that’s fine for this week. If it was me, I’d hate to score huge against the bottom teams & realise it would’ve beaten the bigger teams. On the other hand, he’d be disappointed with only three in the nineties.
Johnny’s “diamond12” had a heartbreaking 19 point loss over “Frazers Flames” in the mid-table clash. Only Bryce Gibbs, Gilbert & Lewis provided the ton. Cox missing along with Michael Gardiner’s BoG performance for the “Flames” made the difference.
Round 15 DreamTeam Wars Games
Next weeks big match is between the “Nambucca Axemen” & “Sheryl’s Saints”. Deano needs to cause the upset to keep in touch with the top four.
Johnny’s “diamond12” also need a win against 7th placed “Leeming Lightning” to stay in touch with the eight.
Michael’s “dorkers” have a danger game against the improving “Greenfield Giants” & a win could possibly see them in the top eight.
Other games look easy enough with the “Royal Knights” .v. “GoldCoast Clubbers”, “Germinators” .v. “Waikiki Whackers” & my “Great Izzacs” looking for 2 in a row against the “Carlisle Cobras”.
Spill your guts on your Dream Team
Please let us know about the going ons with your Dream Team side. Hear are some questions we would love to hear about.
- Are you happy with your team after 14 rounds?
- How many trades do you have left?
- Who you looking to trade?
- Who are you happy with?
- How did your captain go?
- Did you get caught out with any withdraws? Like Steve Johnson?
- Have you traded for any players who turned out to be a dud?

I am almost happy with my dream team. Yes I have Franklin plus a few others who have not delievered but surely he cannot play like a goose all year round.
I have used my cash cows of Ziebell, Gilbert etc to trade up which is why I can manage to have Cox, Ablett, Corey, Didak, Goddard, Chapman & Johnson in the same side.
I have 6 trades left and think I need to keep those for the last few weeks, I only played with 20 players this week which was a worry but if I can get all 22 playing and have Franklin lift along with a fit Cox, I may finally get up to 2000. Thats my aim.
btw watching the live scores with Ariana over the weekend and it went down to litterly Geelong vs St Kilda, Ariana needed the Saints to have an off day and she would have defeated the undefeated Sheryl’s Saints
