This weeks discussion is plain & simple – “Hard Luck Stories”. My captain, Jed Adcock, goes down with a season ending knee injury with a score of 10. Had he not gained a possession, “Fevs” points would’ve been doubled as my vice captain.
I’m sure there’s plenty this week. Cox, Ablett & Sandilands have to be just three along with Bartel’s quite game.
Spill your guts about your Dream Team
Please let us know about the going ons with your Dream Team side. Hear are some questions we would love to hear about.
- Are you happy with your team after 15 rounds?
- How many trades do you have left?
- Who you looking to trade?
- Who are you happy with?
- How did your captain go? Did you get caught out like me with Adcock being injured or Bartel only scoring 40 odd?
- Did you get caught out with any Geelong withdraws?
- Have you traded for any player who turned out to be a dud?
- Tell us your Hard Luck story..
- Are you going to trade Cox?
Dream Team Wars
Second win in a row for my “Great Izzacs” is a rare feat this season. We defeated the bottom placed “Carlisle Cobras” by 542 points. Quinten Lynch, Jason Akermanis, Kurt Tippett, Brendan Fevola, Jason Gram & new boy Andrew Swallow were all ton makers. Jed Adcock was a casualty in a cursed year for injuries on my team. Maybe I should trade for Collingwood players to ruin their season.
A big week of upsets occurred this weekend & that’s not surprising considering the huge “DreamTeam” names that either were injured or withdrew late.
Let’s start with Deano’s giant killers upsetting “Sheryl’s Saints” by 39 points for their first loss of the season. Considering only Hamish McInstosh & Nick Riewoldt scored over the ton, Deano might’ve been worried a little, especially with the late withdrawal of Andrew Mackie. But six players in the nineties was a huge help.
Also of help was the injury to Jed Adcock & the withdrawal of Adam Schneider, so lady luck was definitely riding on Deano’s side this week.
Another huge upset was Arianna’s “Royal Kinghts” suffering a 130 point loss to the “GoldCoast Clubbers”. Brendan Fevola, Ryan O’Keefe & a surprising Ricky Petterd were the ton makers. Again, without Mackie, Ablett, Sandilands & Steve Johnson, although Johnson didn’t play the week before, either Arianna is running out of trades or she paid little respect to the opposition.
This puts Jermayn’s “Germinators” above Arianna in 3rd place after a huge 781 point win over the “Waikiki Whackers”. Who topped over 2,000 for the first time.
Alan Didak, Jason Porplyzia, Greg Broughton, Liam Anthony, Paul Chapman, Lance Franklin, McIntosh & Joel Corey were the ton makers in what was the leagues 2nd biggest score of the week.
Michael’s “Dorkers” defeated the “Greenfield Giants” by 250 points. Fevola, Brian Lake & Corey were the only ton makers & there was about eight in the eighties. Although a win is a win, I’d say Michael wouldn’t be overly happy with the team.
Johnny’s “diamond12” went down to “Lemming Lightning” by 173 points. Jonathan Brown, Quinten Lynch, Kurt Tippett & Nick Maxwell scored tons. With only one in the nineties, Johnny didn’t have the wretched luck of some, but the backline was seriously out of form.
Next Weeks Dream Team Wars Matches
Next week, Deano’s “Nambucca Axemen” takes on the “Leemming Lightning” in a battle to possibly pinch a top four place.
Johnny’s “diamond12” drew the short straw this week taking on “Sheryl’s Saints” who’ll be looking for revenge after losing their first match of the season.
Arianna’s “Royal Knights” have a danger game against “Frazer’s Flames” while Jermayn’s “Germinators” & my “Great Izzacs” take on the bottom two teams in the “Carlisle Cobras” & “Waikiki Whackers”.

- 4 Trades left
- I had Clarke, Ablett & Johnson on my bench but still managed over 2000.
- Good to see I kept faith in Buddy with a 100+
- Seeing I only have 4 trades left I may be forced to keep a hold on Cox, guess we will wait and see.
- For round 15 I made two trades, Muston for Anthony (made $100+) & Yarren for Hogan, lets hope Hogan gets to stay in the side as Yarren was a waste of space…
