This weeks question comes as local West Gippy boy, Jason Davenport, is near best on ground in yesterdays win over the Eagles. Is there any local talent in your area you’d like to give a shout out or a shoot down to??

Dream Team Wars

A lot of great scores this week by our teams, starting with Jermayn’s “Germinators” 360 point win over “Carlisle Cobras”.

Daniel Rich has been an amazing Dream Teamer. Do we cash him in or keep him?

Daniel Rich has been an amazing Dream Teamer. Do we cash him in or keep him?

Where do you start with the century scorers?? Luke Hodge, Paul Chapman, Gary Ablett, Brendon Goddard, Hamish McIntosh, Ryan Griffen, Heath Shaw, Lance Franklin, Simon Hogan, Chris Masten & Daniel Rich all scored well & many were vote catching performances this week.

Ariana’s “Royal Knights” got back in the winners list with a 153 point win over “Frazer’s Flames”.

Ryan O’Keefe, Goddard, Ablett, McIntosh, Andrew Mackie, Brendan Fevola, Shaw, Rich & Sam Gilbert were the ton makers.

Deano’s “Nambucca Axemen” is still hunting that top four spot with a 181 point win over “Leeming Lightning”.

Joel Selwood, Nick Riewoldt, McIntosh, Sam Fisher, Shaun Higgins, Mackie, Griffen, Xavier Ellis, Patrick Ryder & Rich all scored tons. Despite Leon Davis’s 92 & Riewoldt, the forward line looked a little bare, but score over 2100 & you’d be happy.

Michael’s “Dorkers” scored well, but were 175 points short against the “Woftham Wasps”. Selwood, McIntosh, Fevola, Tarkyn Lockyer, Harding & Rich all scored tons. They needed more contributions with only rookie listed Tiger, Robin Nahas, scoring in the nineties.

Johnny’s “diamond12” had the enviable task of coming up against “Sheryl’s Saints”, who were knocked off for the first time last week. A massive 432 point loss was the response.

Jordan Lewis, Ellis, Rich & Sam Gilbert scored tons. Despite a few in the nineties, Johnny has a right to feel disgusted with his whole team efforts.

We’re on a roll with the “Great Izzacs” scoring 3 wins straight. In a way, a score like that against a bottom side is wasted, but looking at the other scores, we might take it. A massive 831 point win over the “Waikiki Whackers” with Brad Johnson, Jason Gram, Higgins & Fevola all scoring tons.

“Fev” took over as captain after we took the “white screen” to Jed Adcock. We had five in the nineties & even Nick Suban decided to turn up. With 5 trades left, think it’s time to cash in.

Next Weeks Dream Team Wars Matches

With two weeks to go before the finals, what a time for the “War of the Roses” next weekend with the “Germinators” .v. the “Royal Knights”. Looks like Ariana’s back after a few lean weeks.

Another Derby sees Deano’s “Nambucca Axemen” .v. Michael’s “Dorkers”, who need to win to hopefully sneak into the eight. Meanwhile, Deano needs to make the top four. Ooh, kind of getting “Melrose Place” at the top.

Johnny’s “diamond12” may be out of the top eight race, but the team will be out to shape the eight against the “Mandurah Mob’.

Meanwhile, my “Great Izzacs” play “Arthur Mongrels” & a win could see the “Dorkers” slip into the eight if they beat Deano’s boys. We’ll do our best to win regardless.

Meet craigeyles

Born in Warragul, West Gippsland, Victoria. I’m married with 2 beautiful young girls & a cat (Hirdy). One is at school & the other has autism. I support Essendon but I’m not the one-eyed feral type. Played footy for 1 year in under 15s. Was roped in, actually, as my brother was in the team & they were short of players. Terrible team, mind you. Coach had his sons in the midlfield & they were dreadful. What I do?? Not a lot, unfortunately. Cutting a long story short, illness for 24 years this year (ended footy career) & Johnny’s “workplace” laws forced its hand even more. Love to work, but unfortunately part time is the go these days. Now, spend my time doing community radio sports show on Saturdays & wife suggested I build excel programs on sports leagues & other calculations. Enjoy my “twittering” that I recently discovered.

Are you happy with your team after 16 rounds? – Yes, team is set – only covering for injuries now
Are you in the hunt for finals? – In the top 4 in all my leagues so yes :)
How many trades do you have left? – 1 trade left, will use it to upgrade Adcock to anyone I want (have $110,000 in the bank) if a defender goes down – have cover everywhere else
Who you looking to trade? – Adcock
Who are you happy with? – ROK, Fisher, Goddard, Riewoldt – Matthew Boyd as a fairly unique choice too
How did your captain go? – Chapman 126, had Boyd VC who got 112.
Have you traded for any player who turned out to be a dud? – Higgins to Franklin, but looks like he’s beginning to turn it around !
Tell us your Hard Luck story – None yet :)
Are you going to trade Cox? – Traded him for Petrie last week, would have gone Mitch Clark but wanted someone a bit more durable

  2. Jermayn Says:

My team also looks set aside from two areas, one the ruck! I still have Cox, do I trade him? I am thinking yes and then I could go for a more consistent forward line. However if Steve Johnson gets back, it will look ok with him, Chappy, Franklin & Didak.

and Deledilicious, I also traded Higgins for Franklin and besides the last two weeks, I have been kicking myself ever since :(

I think I have about 4 trades left and in the top four for the Kick2Kick league and 6th for the other two.
