2009 Finals Kick2Kick League

The 2009 DreamTeam Finals series starts this weekend & the rules of the game are simple. Pick your team with NO salary caps & NO trade restrictions. But, there is a catch…

You must pick a team of 22 with a restriction of 3 players per team in the 1st week. You may think that’s tough, but as the restrictions increase as the teams get reduced, believe me, that’s harder.

For all those who have entered the Kick2Kick league, good luck for the Finals. There is still room for those interested, our League Number is: 217924 and the link is http://aflfinals.virtualsports.com.au.

Dream Team Wars: Finals week 3

Wow, the Grand Finals sure threw up some surprises with both winners coming outside the top 4 of each section.

Ariana’s “Royal Knights” can have bragging rights for 6 months over Jermayn after she defeated “Leeming Lightning” by 136 pts to be the official 2009 premiers.

Brendon Goddard, Ryan Hargrave, Jimmy Bartel, Gary Ablett & Brett Deledio all score tons. Backed up by 3 nineties & several eighties, Ariana had the consistent team that she was missing in the home & away games.

Unfortunately for Michael, my “Great Izzacs” defeated his “Dorkers” by 194 pts to take out the minor premiership from 14th place.

Tarkyn Lockyer, Lewis Roberts-Thompson, Ablett, Tom Swift, Kurt Tippett, new boy Nick Riewoldt & Mark LaCras all scored tons.

Roberts-Thompson is now known as “Mr August” after finally showing up to play & Tom Swift has been terrific over the finals period.

For Michael, Brian Lake, Adam McPhee, Joel Corey & Lockyer all scored tons. It was too bad that the rucks didn’t fire & many of this years surprise picks didn’t show up either. Bad luck, mate, & better luck next season.

Meet craigeyles

Born in Warragul, West Gippsland, Victoria. I’m married with 2 beautiful young girls & a cat (Hirdy). One is at school & the other has autism. I support Essendon but I’m not the one-eyed feral type. Played footy for 1 year in under 15s. Was roped in, actually, as my brother was in the team & they were short of players. Terrible team, mind you. Coach had his sons in the midlfield & they were dreadful. What I do?? Not a lot, unfortunately. Cutting a long story short, illness for 24 years this year (ended footy career) & Johnny’s “workplace” laws forced its hand even more. Love to work, but unfortunately part time is the go these days. Now, spend my time doing community radio sports show on Saturdays & wife suggested I build excel programs on sports leagues & other calculations. Enjoy my “twittering” that I recently discovered.

  1. Jermayn Says:

In looking at the game between my wife and Leeming, a big difference was the choice of captains. Ablett got 120 odd while Swan only got an 80 odd. That is 80 points the difference. Swan has had a few quite weeks…

On top of that Leeming was down to 20 players with Franklin & Chappo out, guess you always need a trade or two left for the finals.
