2010 Round 10 Dreamteam Wrapup

Posted on 01 June 2010 by

It’s amazing what circumstances, or in the Bulldogs case “excuses”, can do to players. “Aker” was terrible & of the 2 of the 3 players involved in the “sex scandal”, one coped, the other from another club failed.

Nathan Fyfe has his second 100+ score for the second week in a row & is being known for his nickname & his big hands

Kick2Kick League Round 10 Review

Benditos 2,127 def Cash Or Clunkers 1,508

Ben’s Best: Goddard, Waters, Swan, Ablett, Montagna, Gibbs, Dal Santo, Chapman, Podsiadly
My Best: Boak, Podsiadly

It was of little use fixing the holes coming up against a top 2 team this week & our better players from the last 2 or 3 weeks have faltered. Ben’s midfield was devastating with Barlow missing out on the party.

Germinators 2,021 def Chardy’s Champs 1,762

Jermayn’s Best: Goddard, Waters, Swan, Ablett, Gibbs, Chapman, Podsiadly, Rockliff, Fyfe
Lisa’s Best: Hodge, Duffield, Watson, Deledio, Jolly, Podsiadly

Two youngsters help out in this one sided match & can Fyfe win a 2nd Rising Star nomination?? If he does, it could be a Freo 1-2 in the polling. Sandilands again puts in a shocker by his lofty standards.

BullDogz 1,711 def Half Back Flanker 1,706

Mike’s Best: Lake, Selwood, Rich, Podsiadly, Staker, Fyfe
Darren’s Best: Goddard, Ablett, Podsiadly, Fyfe

Mike can send Staker a cheque for playing the game of his career & for the 2nd week in a row Rich is back. Hille, McDonald & Boyd were players of note that were well down this week & “Roughie’s” having a shocking time of it.

Not even having Ablett in the side got Darren over the line & if Goodes kicked straight, the result would’ve been different.

Grey Wet Sydney 1,957 def Crimson Sting 1,384

Justin’s Best: Ablett, Gibbs, Podsiadly, Garlett
Tyler’s Best: Ablett, Deledio

Despite the percentage booster, Justin wouldn’t be happy with the teams overall performance. Hall, Black & Cooney scored well but Hodge had a shocker by his yearly standards scoring only one more point than Bastinac.

The Juddanauts 1,890 def Nambucca Axemen 1,666

Jason’s Best: Goddard, Ablett, Gibbs, Boak, Judd, Rich, Chapman, Rockliff
Deano’s Best: Goddard, Hayes, Rockliff

The top scorers deserted Deano this week as this closely predicted match was turned on its head. No support for Rockliff up forward & the defence was woeful. They better perform or they feel the Axe.

Joden Warrior’s 1,905 def Princess’ Cats 1,872

Jodie’s Best: Goddard, Swan, Stanton, Chapman, Podsiadly, Rockliff
Ariana’s Best: Goddard, Waters, Ablett, Pavlich, Stanton, Podsiadly, Rockliff

The Princess couldn’t pull the upset off this week & the questions are now being asked about the teams hunger going back to back. Barlow cancelled himself out of both teams so we’ll blame Bartel for his shocker on the weekend.

iTeam 1.866 def Bomber cyborgs 1,814

Anthony’s Best: Goddard, Waters, Swan, Ablett, Gibbs, Chapman
Sean’s Best: Goddard, Waters, Selwood, Podsiadly, Rockliff

The 2nd upset of the week, Anthony pulled it off without Trengrove. Cox & Shaw were down, but Tippett improved.

The ruck duels were even with Sean just a shade down & playing a midfielder short has cost the cyborgs this week from taking a top 4 spot.

Round 11 Previews

  • Cash For Clunkers ($2.41) .vs. Grey Wet Sydney ($1.57)
    • Justin’s scoring well & is part of that huge logjam on 4 wins. We intend to break that deadlog by one & keep him at 4 wins (haha). Match committee working on a new game plan.
  • Germinators ($1.75) .vs. Juddanauts ($2.08)
    • The boss is sitting on top of the heap, but the Juddanauts have got that winning feeling back again. Franklin is gone this week, but Barlow should be back.
  • Half Back Flanker ($1.96) .vs. Princess’ Cats ($1.86)
    • The bookies have gone with the devil they know (sorry, Princess, couldn’t think of another term). But, Darren is out to prove that he doesn’t stink for the punters by coming back from a narrow loss.
  • Bad Boys ($2.79) .vs. iTeam ($1.45)
    • Another short priced game with Anthony in great form after a gutsy win. The team can take a breath this weekend & enjoy the ride.
  • Mopar ($1.81) .vs. Bomber cyborgs ($2.02)
    • Sean realises he’s in with a fight here, despite Mopar’s 6-1 record. After a narrow loss, the top 4 has to be their inspiration.
  • BullDogz ($2.30) .vs. Joden Warriors ($1.62)
    • Mike pulls off the upset & Jodie, with a 4-3 record, has scored one less point than the 6-1 Mopar. That’s a damning stat for Mike, but I know the Dogz don’t give a damn.
  • Chardy’s Champs ($1.94) .vs. Nambucca Axemen ($1.87)
    • C’mon, Deano. The pre-season favourite now sits outside the top 8 after some very close losses. Can he turn it around this weekend?? It should be one of the matches of the round.

Good luck to all this weekend with some very exciting results ahead.

Meet craigeyles

Born in Warragul, West Gippsland, Victoria. I’m married with 2 beautiful young girls & a cat (Hirdy). One is at school & the other has autism. I support Essendon but I’m not the one-eyed feral type. Played footy for 1 year in under 15s. Was roped in, actually, as my brother was in the team & they were short of players. Terrible team, mind you. Coach had his sons in the midlfield & they were dreadful. What I do?? Not a lot, unfortunately. Cutting a long story short, illness for 24 years this year (ended footy career) & Johnny’s “workplace” laws forced its hand even more. Love to work, but unfortunately part time is the go these days. Now, spend my time doing community radio sports show on Saturdays & wife suggested I build excel programs on sports leagues & other calculations. Enjoy my “twittering” that I recently discovered.

  1. Princess of the Cats Says:

    Not happy Jan!!
Had Rocklift on the bench and played Hitchcock instead and I loose for the second week in a row by less than 50 points…

  2. Jermayn Says:

Yeh I also got caught out by Hitchcock injuring himself also, guess I have to pay more attention to the weather reports.

I along with everyone else is also thinking of bringing in Gysbert especially with Barlow’s hammy only rating him as a 50/50, i need bench cover for my midfield and I have two rookies on my bench who are not getting a game at the moment.
