2010 Round 12 Dreamteam Wrapup

Posted on 15 June 2010 by

In the midst of the Socceroos keeping most people interested for 3 minutes, we’re making a financial killing but sacrificing sleep. We also have a new DT vote leader after round 12.

Kick2Kick League Round 12 Review

Juddanauts 1,870 drew Cash Or Clunkers 1,870

Jason’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Ablett, Barlow, Gibbs, Rich, O’Keefe, Rockliff
My Best: Hodge, Barlow, Griffen, Van Berlo, Byrnes, Schneider, Podsiadly

Can be thankful that Michael Voss screwed the DT nation & Brown is out for a month. It was a huge talking point yesterday & the “Footy Show” were going to run with it on Thursday night.

Germinators 2,237 def Grey Wet Sydney 2,068

Jermayn’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Waters, Swan, Ablett, Cooney, Barlow, Gibbs, Boyd, Sandilands, O’Keefe, Podsiadly, Franklin, Rockliff
Justin’s Best: Ablett, Hodge, Cooney, Barlow, Gibbs, Black, Sandilands, Hall, Podsiadly, Franklin

Wish there was a way I could put Hodge & Goddard on “speed type”. So tired. Pies lied pulling Didak instead of O’Bree & the bosses midfield was in great form. Pods gave us all a scare very early in the game.

Justin’s midfield was also hot, but the difference was the defence gave him nothing & many must be wondering if Natanui could soon be Ratatui.

Half Back Flanker 2,105 def iTeam 2,048

Darren’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Kelly, Doughty, Ablett, Cooney, Barlow, Sandilands, Podsiadly, Franklin
Anthony’s Best: Goddard, Waters, Duffield, Swan, Ablett, Barlow. Gibbs, Boyd, Cox, Kennedy

This match lived up to the expectation with Darren’s players out of left field scoring well in defence. Darren was another victim of the Brown scam.

Anthony’s ruck stocks did well considering how rucks have played in 2010 & the midfield was great. Duffield was also good in defence.

Princess’ Cats 1,994 def Bad Boys 1,143

Ariana’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Waters, Ablett, Bartel, Barlow, O’Keefe, Sandilands, Podsiadly, Franklin, Rockliff
Steve’s Best: Waters, Ablett, Dal Santo

As expected, a very easy percentage booster although the Princess’ points seemed slightly down this week. Didak pulled out & Higgins remains injured.

Bomber cyborgs 2,194 def BullDogz 1,721

Sean’s Best: Goddard, Hodge, Waters, Waite, Bartel, Cooney, Barlow, Sandilands, Johnson, O’Keefe, Hall, Podsiadly, Rockliff
Mike’s Best: Barlow, Boyd, Rich, Sandilands, Podsiadly

The usual suspects from last week bobbed up for Sean as he dominated this match. The forward line was dominant, probably the 1st time this season I’ve seen a forward line run so hot.

The Dogs backline didn’t play kickzies with a 65 point win. Mike is holding onto a couple of injured stars which looks a good move, but may cost him another game.

Benditos 2,270 def Nambucca Axemen 1,997

Ben’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Waters, Swan, Ablett, Dal Santo, Barlow, Gibbs, Cox, O’Keefe, Hall, Podsiadly
Deano’s Best: Malceski, Hodge, Goddard, Barlow, Griffen, Sandilands, O’Keefe, Giansiracusa, Rioli, Rockliff

Deano’s rotten luck continues & he would’ve jumped off the roof if he’d sold Rioli last week. Reckon he’s got it bad?? Try spelling Podsiadly so many times & working on the World Cup.

Round 13 Previews

Cash For Clunkers ($2.49) .vs. Princess’ Cats ($1.54)
Didn’t think I stood a chance last week, but have a feeling I’m in with a real chance of an upset this week with the Princess holding out on injured players. Zero upsets last week may cause more this week.

Germinators ($1.68) .vs. iTeam ($2.20)
The boss may have solved his injury problems, but a loss could see him lose top spot. Anthony desperately wants a top 4 spot.

Half Back Flanker ($1.87) .vs. Grey Wet Sydney ($1.94)
The bookies got it right in the close one for Darren last week, & they believe he can do it again. Both are looking for the top 8 spots this week.

Moapr ($1.78) .vs. Nambucca Axemen ($2.05)
Deano is unfortunately on the nose of the punters, but one of the pre-season favourites is out to prove them wrong. Let’s see if he can have the bookies whining this week.

BullDogz ($1.40) .vs. Crimson Sting ($2.97)
Half chance for the Sting, but the Dogz will have their day by a mile.

Chardy’s Champs ($2.02) .vs. Bomber cyborgs ($1.81)
Arguably the match of the round with spots in the top 4 & top 8 at stake. Both are on a 4-1 winning streak & both are scoring very high. It should be a beauty.

Good luck to all this weekend with some very exciting results ahead.

Born in Warragul, West Gippsland, Victoria. I’m married with 2 beautiful young girls & a cat (Hirdy). One is at school & the other has autism. I support Essendon but I’m not the one-eyed feral type. Played footy for 1 year in under 15s. Was roped in, actually, as my brother was in the team & they were short of players. Terrible team, mind you. Coach had his sons in the midlfield & they were dreadful. What I do?? Not a lot, unfortunately. Cutting a long story short, illness for 24 years this year (ended footy career) & Johnny’s “workplace” laws forced its hand even more. Love to work, but unfortunately part time is the go these days. Now, spend my time doing community radio sports show on Saturdays & wife suggested I build excel programs on sports leagues & other calculations. Enjoy my “twittering” that I recently discovered.

  1. Jermayn Says:

Of the top 10 of all dreamteam points collected so far, I have the top five in Dane Swan (Coll), Paul Chapman (Gee), Gary Ablett (Gee), Luke Hodge (Haw) & Brendon Goddard (Stk).

Also at the moment im at around 3200 of all Dreamteamers, pretty chuffed at that :)

I do however have a few injury issues with Maguire out for a month, Hargrave out of favour and Higgins out for another month.

  2. Jermayn Says:

Thinking about trading Maguire and downgrading him for Strijk (strike) from West Coast, which could see me gain around 200k and use that to upgrade to a premium in my forward or defense. May wait a week to see how he goes against the Dogs first though…
