Kick2Kick League Round 14 Review
iTeam 2,028 def Cash Or Clunkers 1,792
Anthony’s Best: Goddard, Duffield, Swan, Ablett, Barlow, Gibbs, Boyd, Trengrove, Tippett, Chapman
My Best: Hodge, Barlow, Van Berlo, Sandilands, Tippett, Schneider, Podsiadly
Smashed by Anthony’s midfield this week, but I had 3 missing including 1 late withdrawal. More than likely I still would’ve lost, but that’s an improved effort, especially from the ruck stocks.
Germinators 2,394 def Princess’ Cats 1,969
Jermayn’s Best: Goddard, Hodge, Gilbert, Enright, Swan, Ablett, Barlow, Gibbs, Boyd, Sandilands, Luenberger, Chapman, O’Keefe, Didak, Podsiadly
Ariana’s Best: Goddard, Hodge, Ablett, Barlow, O’Keefe, Didak, Banner, Sandilands, Podsiadly
Jermayn looks like he nabbed Leunberger in a trade, or I haven’t noticed him there. Arguably has the 2 best ruckmen in the league. O’Keefe played his best game for ages, but Fyfe could be done.
Apart from Banner being a left field highlight, nothing went right for the Princess. Ziebell went down trying to trip Varcoe, Higgins wasn’t fit while Waters & Stanton didn’t fire.
Half Back Flanker 2,057 def The Juddanaut 1,898
Darren’s Best: Goddard, Hodge Gilbert, Kelly, Ablett, Barlow, Trengrove, Sandilands, Podsiadly
Jason’s Best: Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Ablett, Barlow, Gibbs, Chapman, O’Keefe
Darren’s defence starred with Kelly back & will be without Grimes & Fyfe next week. Brown reportedly out for another 2 weeks.
Grey Wet Sydney 1,915 def Bad Boys 1,367
Justin’s Best: Ablett, Hodge, Barlow, Gibbs, Black, Sandilands, Roughead, Podsiadly
Steve’s Best: Ablett, Hayes, Trengrove, Tippett
A win is a win with Justin’s defence failing to fire up & is still yet to offload Kreuzer from the ruck stocks. Hall had a shocker & I’m shocked “Roughie” got so many points after I thought he played awful.
Nambucca Axemen 2,072 def BullDogz 1,775
Deano’s Best: Goddard, Enright, Kelly, Hodge, Hayes, Barlow, Sandilands, O’Keefe, Rioli
Mike’s Best: Lake, Barlow, Cross, Selwood, Boyd, Sandilands, Betts, Roughead, Podsiadly
Punters were shaking their heads after Saturday night, but Deano came through with some big Sunday scores including twinkle toes Rioli.
Mike had Lake star in a defence that was just a dry bed of scores. At least he tried, unlike Griffen. How much WAS he paid to not go for that mark??
Bomber Cyborgs 2,096 def Benditos 2,096
Sean’s Best: Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Barlow, Selwood, Didak, Sandilands, O’Keefe, Podsiadly
Ben’s Best: Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Swan, Montagna, Ablett, Barlow, Gibbs, Tippett, Chapman, O’Keefe, Podsiadly.
Wow, the 3rd draw for the season puts Jermayn 2 ½ wins ahead. Sean holding Johnson & both holding Brown may have cost themselves a win.
Round 15 Previews
Cash For Clunkers ($2.58) .vs. Bomber cyborgs ($1.51)
The draw doesn’t get any easier & I know Barlow has to go. Also needing to rid myself of some dead wood. Plenty of trades left & a good recovery plan is in action.
Germinators ($1.75) .vs. Joden Warriors ($2.08)
Another top 8 challenger for Jermayn, another expected close game & he couldn’t score that well 2 weeks running, could he?? Jodie hopes not after falling just short last week.
Half Back Flanker ($1.90) .vs. Nambucca Axemen ($1.90)
Match of the season so far. Everyone wrote off the Hawks from the finals & the Tigers from the getting off the bottom, but now even Brock Lesnar is afraid of Deano.
Mopar ($1.81) .vs. Grey Wet Sydney ($2.02)
Justin can smell an upset with Mopar’s 2 from last 5 wins including the Sting. Needs the win to keep in touch with the top 8.
BullDogz ($2.14) .vs. The Juddanaut ($1.72)
Ooh, Mike would be rabid losing on the Sunday to Deano & knocking on the door of the top 8. No upsets in 3 weeks now, so can Mike pull on off for the good guys??
Chardy’s Champs ($1.96) .vs. Princess’ Cats ($1.86)
An all female fight with the Champs outscoring the Cats last week. The Princess had little luck against the boss, though. Ladder positions at stake here.
Benditos ($1.76) .vs. iTeam ($2.07)
This should be a very even match with top 8 spots on the line. A win to Anthony could see the Benditos drop to 4th, not a good spot for the finals.
Good luck to all this weekend with some very exciting results ahead.

You do not think I can score 2300+ again Craig? Also Luenberger has been in my team all year but this is his first mammoth score but he was cheap at the start of the year and his lowest score all year has been something like 68. Bargain and a better buy than Warnock!
I think I will trade Barlow for Montagna but will keep Fyfe as I have cover in the forward line and only have 6 trades left which I want to keep for the finals. if I get him, it will mean I will have the top 7 scorers which is pretty good luck

Injuries have plagued me all year, only 5 left and I need to offload Barlow and Kreuzer still…

@Justin, Good thing about Barlow though is that he is a good price and you can trade him for someone like Montagna, Ablett etc.

Ok…I’ll admit it…I had to google Brock Lesnar.
Comparisons with the UFC Champion aside we are all just chasing second spot really. Jermayn is pulling some insane numbers and has (correct me if i’m wrong) broken the top 2000 in the entire comp!!! kudos to you big fella.
Would like to know what his secrets are…although i have learnt some harsh lessons that should hold me in good stead for next year.
As for me, I have had serious injuries to Riewoldt, Kerr, Drummond and now Barlow that have eaten up my trades. Unlike Jerm, I don’t have the luxury of holding out til finals to use up my trades as I may not even make it. I have to take action now and hope that I don’t cop any major injuries between now and the rest of the season.
Was primed to upgrade to two more premium mids this week but the Barlow injury has put that to rest. Will do a straight swap for little Gaz and upgrade Armstrong to either Dal Santo, Gibbs, Selwood or Boyd…any suggestions.
Next week will be Gilbee out of the midfield for one of the guys mentioned above which will leave me with a team that I will be pretty content with, Only 2 trades left and from then on I will be praying for no more injuries!!!(and a soft run to the finals please…)

@Deano, I would personally go for Boyd as he always get a bucket load of possessions where Gibbs can go quiet.
I am at the moment writing how I got into the top 2000, alot of it is luck to be honest. Even I am surprised
