“Buddy” finds a loophole in the MRP system…aim for the shoulder, say you slip & whack someone in the head. You’re a certain guarantee to get off for sure. Plus, we hope to start a new article on best & worst buys of the week.

Kick2Kick League Round 16 Review

Joden Warriors 1968 def Cash Or Clunkers 1,578

Jodies’s Best: Hodge, Swan, Stanton, Cox, Chapman
My Best: Hodge, Kelly, Stanton

I had high hopes for this one, but a withdrawal by Boak, Porplyzia mysteriously being dropped & a dismally failing forward line, I had little chance after Saturday. Dawes should’ve easily passed his 50 breakeven, Tippett just passed his my Saints are becoming liabilites.

Germinators 2,222 def Bomber cyborgs 2,013

Jermayn’s Best: Hodge, Hargrave, Swan, Montagna, Gibbs, Boyd, Chapman, O’Keefe, Didak
Sean’s Best: Hodge, Fisher, Hargrave, Selwood, Didak, O’Keefe, Brennan

It’s hasn’t been a great week for “breakout” scoring & “Buddy” was missing for both. O’Keefe & Didak were great left field scorers this week for both. Sean cost himself again by not trading Hille & arguably Hall.

Half back Flankers 1,969 def Crimson Sting 1,267

Darren’s Best: Hodge, Kelly, Swan, Brennan, Goodes, Grundy
Tylers’s Best: Hodge, Goodwin, Goodes, Cox

Darren scores 6 more points than last week, but this time gets a huge win. He had some great left field scorers & he’d be glad he had the only Lion who bothered to turn up on the weekend.

Nambucca Axemen 2,040 def Bad Boys 1,206

Deano’s Best: Harbrow, Kelly, Hargrave, Montagna, Hodge, Hayes, Gilbee, O’Keefe, Brennan
Steve’s Best: Hargrave, Hayes

Dal Santo pulled out late for Deano, but it mattered little with a huge percentage boosting win.

Grey Wet Sydney 1,870 def BullDogz 1,713

Justin’s Best: Goodwin, Hodge, Gibbs, Judd, Goodes
Mike’s Best: Lake, Harbrow, Grundy, Cross, Selwood, Boyd

Justin didn’t have Hall, Franklin or Black & the ruck stocks struggled in a tight contest. Mike played with a 5 man defence & would’ve been disgusted with “Fev’s” efforts on Saturday.

iTeam 2,205 def Chardy’s Champs 1.883

Anthony’s Best: Duffield, Swan, Hodge, Gibbs, Boyd, Cox, Chapman, Thomas, Goodes, Kennedy
Lisa’s Best: Hodge, Duffield, Selwood, O’Keefe

Wow, that’s probably the hottest forward line I’ve seen all season. “Roughie” could’ve made it 5 to 4 top scorers against the midfielders.

Princess’ Cats 2,077 def Benditos 1,831

Ariana’s Best: Hodge, Fisher, Swan, O’Keefe, Stanton, Skipper, Didak
Ben’s Best: Hodge, Hargrave, Montgana, Gibbs, Cox, Chapman, O’Keefe

The one & only upset of the round sees Skipper the left field high scorer for the Princess this week.

Round 17 Previews

Cash For Clunkers ($3.34) .vs. Nambucca Axemen ($1.33)
My only hope is the “trash talk” between Deano & the boss for the round 18 clash. Are the Axemen distracted from this weeks game??

Germinators ($1.02) .vs. Crimson Sting ($14.71)
The boss has top spot sown up & a massive percentage boost is coming. This is the warm up for the big round 18 match.

Half Back Flanker ($2.64) .vs. Bomber cyborgs ($1.49)
Darren has a half chance to sneak into the top 8 with the log jam above him, but Sean has plans of a top 2 finish to avoid the boss in the 1st week of the finals.

Mopar ($6.76) .vs. Princess’ Cats ($1.11)
Ariana can lock in a top 2 spot & knock George out of the top 8 with a win.

BullDogz ($2.07) .vs. iTeam ($1.76)
The bookies give Mike a sneaky chance here after losing 4 from 5 to keep Anthony out of the top 8. Anthony wants in the 8 to show his percentage can reek havoc in the finals.

Chardy’s Champs ($3.89) .vs. Grey Wet Sydney ($1.26)
The Champs have nothing to play for but pride with 2 rounds left, but they can proudly knock Justin out of the top 8 with a win.

Good luck to all this weekend with some very exciting results ahead.

Meet craigeyles

Born in Warragul, West Gippsland, Victoria. I’m married with 2 beautiful young girls & a cat (Hirdy). One is at school & the other has autism. I support Essendon but I’m not the one-eyed feral type. Played footy for 1 year in under 15s. Was roped in, actually, as my brother was in the team & they were short of players. Terrible team, mind you. Coach had his sons in the midlfield & they were dreadful. What I do?? Not a lot, unfortunately. Cutting a long story short, illness for 24 years this year (ended footy career) & Johnny’s “workplace” laws forced its hand even more. Love to work, but unfortunately part time is the go these days. Now, spend my time doing community radio sports show on Saturdays & wife suggested I build excel programs on sports leagues & other calculations. Enjoy my “twittering” that I recently discovered.

I wonder how many people are holding onto Hille because of lack of trades left?? I still have 6 left. How many does everyone else have?

@ Craig – I think we are both mirroring the teams we follow at the moment. I am searching desperately for top4 and you are lacking firepower up front…but as they say anything can happen on the day. Good luck mate.

@ Jerm – After injuries and a couple of unlucky losses forced my hand early I am left with a paltry three trades. I had to use them early to get myself to where i am now. It will now take injuries and lucky wins for me to get anywhere near the GF.

As a side note, my supercoach score of 2400 was good enough for a ranking of 134 for round 16. It’s funny how very similar sides fair quite differently in the two forms of fantasy footy. In supercoach I have locked in top 2 with a 12-1 record yet sit outside top4 in DT.

    Jermayn Reply:

@deano, I will admit ive never looked into Supercoach but I know Craig sure is ‘ify’ on it.

@Deano thought Dawes would have a field day with Cloke out & he barely raised a sweat. every time i try to fill a gap, three players dessert me every week. Cursed again for the 2nd year running.

@Jermayn Hille should be traded. Needs to score 192 when he returns just to break even. Have 7 trades left.

  4. Jermayn Says:

I have 4 trades left after I used two up today:
OUT Malceski ($362,300) IN Goodwin ($401,700)
OUT Nason ($219,800) IN Smith ($94,500)

which gives me $114,100 left that I can use to upgrade to another premium and that leaves me 3 for injuries…

    Deano Reply:

@Jermayn, ballsy move jerm, i wouldn’t have thought that there would have been much between Malceski and Goodwin…not worth the 40,000 imo…but then again you could sit on your hands for the next 6 weeks and still win the lot…congrats again on a super season…do you think you can crack the top 500???

    Jermayn Reply:

I’ve found Goodwin is a bit more consistent & durable than Malceski in looking at the last few rounds & to creep into the top 1000 I need to know that he won’t score under 90 & get injured.

    Jermayn Reply:

@Jermayn, That move was indeed a bad move with him missing  from the game, lucky I was playing someone who also struggled.
