2010 Round 17 Dreamteam Wrapup

Posted on 26 July 2010 by

The big debate this week has been the surface of Etihad. Is it because it was a Friday night game or is it because Hawks supporters are the worst losers considering the surface didn’t effect the outcome??

Andrew Swallow had a great match and has a good past month with some great scores

Kick2Kick League Round 17 Review

Nambucca Axemen 1,925 def Cash Or Clunkers 1,543

Deano’s Best: Goddard, Harbrow. Kelly, Hodge, Hayes, Giansiracusa
My Best: Hodge, Kelly, Schneider

Well, ya know your in trouble when Robbie Warnock nearly beats Sandilands. An all round sucky performance that would make the Swans look good.

Germinators 2,057 def Crimson Sting 1.136

Jermayn’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Swan, Ablett, Boyd, Cooney, Chapman, Didak, Franklin
Tyler’s Best: Hodge, Ablett, Goodes

The boss ropes in Goodwin & he didn’t play. Let’s hope Goodwin isn’t responsible for the boss not breaking the top 1000 by round 22.

Bomber cyborgs 2,036 def Half Back Flanker 1,984

Sean’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Ablett, Bartel, Selwood, Cooney, Didak, Franklin
Darren’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Kelly, Swan, Ablett, Cooney, Goodes, Franklin

A close 52 pt win with the Cats firing in the midfield for Sean & the big disappointments were O’Keefe & Podsiadly. Hanging onto injured players eventually cost Darren & it cost 8th spot.

Princess’ Cats 2,019 def Mopar 1,721

Arianna’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Lake, Swan, Ablett, Bartel, Thompson, Didak, Franklin
George’s Best:
Hodge, Goddard, Swan, Ablett, Murphy, Franklin

Thompson the pick from left field was the pick of the crop not needing so many points to make money & thank goodness the Swannies in the side weren’t needed. George may be in trade trouble still holding onto Barlow.

iTeam 1,916 def BullDogz 1,759

Anthony’s Best: Goddard, Swan, Ablett, Hodge, Boyd, Chapman, Goodes, Grant
Mike’s Best: Lake, Harbrow, Ablett, Selwood, Cross, Boyd

Jarrad Grant the pick from left field probably had a career best score & the midfield fired up for Anthony. Mike’s forwards failed to light it up & the defence had some duck eggs in it. Still, he scores more than me.

Grey Wet Sydney 1,864 def Chardy’s Champs 1.832

Justin’s Best: Ablett, Hodge, Cooney, Goodes, Franklin
Lisa’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Bartel, Selwood, Watson, Giansiracusa

Justin took a gamble with the injured players, having “Presti” on the squad & just managed to keep a major upset away to stay in the top 8.

Round 18 Previews

Cash For Clunkers ($1.46) .vs. Crimson Sting ($2.73)
The most annoying thing about this match is if I score 2,000.

Germinators ($1.69) .vs. Nambucca Axemen ($2.17)
The trash talk went quiet last week as he takes on the boss who could be champ. Expect it to hype up this round.

Half Back Flanker ($1.96) .vs. Joden Warriors ($1.86)
Last chance for the flankers to pinch a top 8 spot before the finals. All Darren has to do is win & rely on other results to fall his way.

Bad Boys ($3.32) .vs. Bomber cyborgs ($1.34)
A nice percentage booster for Sean that could take him away from a bad 1st up final against the boss.

Mopar ($1.94) .vs. iTeam ($1.87)
Anthony can secure a top 8 finals spot with a win, but George wants it just as bad after having such a good run in the 1st few rounds.

BullDogz ($2.30) .vs. Princess’ Cats ($1.32)
Mike’s got pride on the line here & it’s a chance to sneak into the top half of the bottom 8. The Princess thinks it’s a nice tune up before the finals.

Benditos ($1.77) .vs. Grey West Sydney ($2.06)
A big loss to Justin & he’ll be watching the other games with real interest. A loss to Ben & he slips into the bottom half of the top 8. Some huge danger games to finish off the home & away season.

Good luck to all this weekend with some very exciting results ahead.

Meet craigeyles

Born in Warragul, West Gippsland, Victoria. I’m married with 2 beautiful young girls & a cat (Hirdy). One is at school & the other has autism. I support Essendon but I’m not the one-eyed feral type. Played footy for 1 year in under 15s. Was roped in, actually, as my brother was in the team & they were short of players. Terrible team, mind you. Coach had his sons in the midlfield & they were dreadful. What I do?? Not a lot, unfortunately. Cutting a long story short, illness for 24 years this year (ended footy career) & Johnny’s “workplace” laws forced its hand even more. Love to work, but unfortunately part time is the go these days. Now, spend my time doing community radio sports show on Saturdays & wife suggested I build excel programs on sports leagues & other calculations. Enjoy my “twittering” that I recently discovered.
