Kick2Kick League Round 9 Review

Chardy’s Champs 1,814 def Cash Or Clunkers 1,730

Lisa’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Bartel, Watson
My Best: Hodge, Malceski, Boak, Griffen, Van Berlo

Well, my scores are getting better, but so are the oppositions. Gray pulled out late & I was short by 84 points. We both had Kennelly so that was countered itself out. Would’ve felt robbed if I left Hodge as captain with the Gray withdrawal.

Germinators 2,240 def Benditos 1,904

Jermayn’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Enright, Malceski, Hargrave, Ablett, Cooney, Boyd, Chapman
Ben’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Enright, Malceski, Ablett, Chapman

The boss pulled off the slightest of upsets here to regain top spot with a firing defence that even included Hargrave for a change (see his profit line above) & when Fyfe is your 2nd top scoring forward, you have to believe nothing can go wrong.

Half Back Flankers 1,950 def Mopar 1,810

Darren’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Kelly, Ablett, Cooney, Hille, Goodes
George’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Enright, Ablett

Darren defeats the undefeatable with Goodes the surprise packet up forward & Sandilands the surprise failure in the ruck. But, thank goodness for Hille. And he can thank George being hindered by Kennelly & Vince.

Bulldogz 1,872 def Bad Boys 1,651

Mike’s Best: Lake, McDonald, Boyd, Rich, Banfield, Hille
Steve’s Best: Milburn, Hargrave, Ablett, Hayes, Ling

What we like to see is some best scorers that are out if left field & both pulled some off this week. Throw your hands up, Mike, & say it’s about time Rich paid me back. Lake makes up for 2 bad scores.

Nambucca Axemen 1,947 def Grey Wet Sydney 1,831

Deano’s Best: Enright, Malceski, Hodge, Goddard, Griffen, Hille
Justin’s Best: Ablett, Hodge, Cooney, Goodes

Deano lived dangerously despite 3 straight losses playing one short up forward & could be lucky this weeks recurring pattern is bad forward line scores.

Justin’s team just lacked good scorers this week with Simon Black the surprise scorer of the team. Thought he was horrible, but obviously stats say otherwise, or do they really lie??

Bomber cyborgs 1,935 def Princess’ Cats 1,926

Sean’s Best: Hodge, Enright, Bartel, Goddard, Cooney, Hille
Ariana’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Hargave, Ablett, Bartel

Sean wins the upset forced to play without Higgins, Waite suspended & Kennelly went down early. Despite this, the midfield fired up.

The Princess loses another game as favourite & top 4 spot also without Higgins. The rucks failed to fire at all & Kennelly went down. Did Sean’s ruck stocks get him over the line?? Didak in the gun to be sent to the VFL next week.

Joden Warriors 1,944 def iTeam 1,810

Jodie’s Best: Hodge, Goddard, Enright, Malceski, Bartel, Hille, Chapman
Anthony’s Best: Goddard, Ablett, Boyd, Chapman, Goodes

Anthony beaten by Jodie’s back line & not replacing Broughton with a real replacement as Garland isn’t a points scorer.

Round 10 Previews

  • Cash For Clunkers ($2.64) .vs. Benditos ($1.49)
    • Ok, need to replace Kennelly & Robbie Gray coming back could give me a half chance. Desperately need the win.
  • Germinators ($1.70) .vs. Chardy’s Champs ($2.16)
    • The boss is back on top & intends to stay there. Lisa is ½ win outside the top 8. The boss was the only team over the magical 2,000 mark last week.
  • Half Back Flanker ($1.69) .vs. BullDogz ($2.17)
    • Both teams have a 3-2 record in last 5 & Darren wants to stay in the 8 where there’s a huge log jam of teams wanting his spot. Mike has one of those teams.
  • Grey Wet Sydney ($1.39) .vs. Crimson Sting ($3.14)
    • Justin needs the percentage to climb into the 8 &, unfortunately for the Sting, he just might get his wish.
  • The Jaddanaut ($1.89) .vs. Nambucca Axemen ($1.92)
    • This could be an upset with the Axemen back on track after a 3 week hiccup & the Judda’s coming off a huge percentage booster.
  • Princess’ Cats ($1.97) .vs. Joden Warriors ($1.85)
    • This is the way the Princess purrs lately. When she’s the bookies underdog, the Cats remain hungry. Jodie’s in a huge fight to keep her top 8 spot here.
  • iTeam ($1.96) .vs. Bomber cyborgs ($1.86)
    • The bookies are sticking with the giant killer and Anthony not only wants a top 8 spot, but to beat a top 8 team. This isn’t out of his reach by a stretch.

Good luck to all this weekend with some very exciting results ahead.

Meet craigeyles

Born in Warragul, West Gippsland, Victoria. I’m married with 2 beautiful young girls & a cat (Hirdy). One is at school & the other has autism. I support Essendon but I’m not the one-eyed feral type. Played footy for 1 year in under 15s. Was roped in, actually, as my brother was in the team & they were short of players. Terrible team, mind you. Coach had his sons in the midlfield & they were dreadful. What I do?? Not a lot, unfortunately. Cutting a long story short, illness for 24 years this year (ended footy career) & Johnny’s “workplace” laws forced its hand even more. Love to work, but unfortunately part time is the go these days. Now, spend my time doing community radio sports show on Saturdays & wife suggested I build excel programs on sports leagues & other calculations. Enjoy my “twittering” that I recently discovered.

  1. Deano Says:

outstanding effort germ…ranked something like 6000th in the whole comp and a weekly ranking of 250 odd. that is brilliant mate. keep it up.Would love to know how many trades you have left.

as for me i can’t believe armstrong was left out after having 30 odd possessions in just his second game last week. was looking for some cash but he needs to play his third game…bugger.

Looking to bring little gaz in this week, was going to do it last week but thought he might struggle against the pies and drop in value (he did by 15k) and i thought McVeigh would have a decent game against the Tigers but he too dropped in value by 15k…ah well was worth a try.

am keeping the injured kennelly, brennan and murphy for now…no more injuries please!!!

    Jermayn Reply:

Thanks Deano for the well wishes.

I have 10 trades left & will probably keep around 6-8 for injury cover & use the other 2 for upgrading, my forward line can still do with some work.

I will (when time permits) go into detail with my trades etc to show you how I got to where I currently am.

I think when you trade is the key, for example I upgraded Dustin Martin I think it was for Ablett the week he got his huge 150 odd. & also brought in Hargraves after his huge price drops.

Also got rid of deadwood like Zebiell & Dangerfield as they were not bringing in good scores & increasing in value.

I do run the risk of getting injuries as we are only a 1/4 into the season but I’m fairly happy were I am at the moment.
