This week I have my money on Buddy Franklin kicking the most goals for round 3 against the suspension hit Richmond defence

Well what a round we have in store for us footy fans, Saints take on the ever improving Bombers, West Coast slug it out with the Swans, the mighty Crows after a round 2 bye tackle the Dockers, Richmond battle the much hyped Hawks and on footy biggest stage Friday night it’s a top of the table clash as the Blues led by Chris Judd battle it out with the best team in the completion the reigning premiers Collingwood.

Collingwood vs. Carlton

Collingwood 1-39 points @$2.25

What a start it has been for the defending champs easily disposing of Port in round 1 and the struggling Kangaroos in round 2 enter round 3 and the pies take on their biggest challenge so far.

The blues should have easily beaten the tigers in round one but poor kicking made the score look closer than what it really was and well we all know what happened last week against the new kids on the block the woeful Gold Coast. I think Carlton can challenge Collingwood but at the end of the day Collingwood are Collingwood and have a star studded midfield led by ball magnet Dane Swan throw in players like Dale Thomas, Luke Ball and Alan Didak it makes them very hard to beat. I’m tipping this game to close I can’t see it being a blowout because Carlton will be pushing for a top 4 spot this season and have a skilful team, saying that they are not at that next level to beat Collingwood at the G.

Lance Franklin to be the leading goal kicker in round 3 @$5.50

Well because round 3 is so tightly contested I’ve decided to go with something different and when you look at the odds it’s a pretty good bet.

First up Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin is an absolute superstar of the game and is capable of kicking multiple goals against any opposition, secondly the hawks play Richmond who don’t really have a key defender who is capable of standing Buddy. Last week against Melbourne the hawks has something ridiculous like 17 scoring shots in the 3rd quarter if that trend continues this week Buddy will be getting a lot of the footy.

The main reason for the hawks having so many scoring shots is their highly talented midfield consisting of Shaun Burgoyne, Sam Mitchell, Chance Bateman and the skipper Luke Hodge. The Tigers are a very exciting team but they are not developed enough as a team to compete with the big boys in the AFL, like I said before Buddy can turn it on against the best defenders in the completion and when a team doesn’t have a big key defender well the flood gates may open Saturday night. I’ve got a feeling a few Richmond defenders may be a little bit nervous thinking about the challenge of facing Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin.
