The new Saints Duel All-Australian Ruck Duo

This week will be interesting as some of the teams are wanting to do well while others just want to get through and play some young players. It will also give us a better look at the new faces and new controversial rules.

St Kilda v Richmond
Saints look hungry to get the season off to a good start, they have a new ruck division with Gardiner and King. Richmond would also be hungry for some success but Saints have the talent. Saints 30 points.

Western Bulldogs v Kangaroos
Bulldogs blooding of young legs will see them get over the line. Will be interesting to see Thompson back after a knee reconstruction. Bulldogs by 20 points.

Melbourne v Geelong
Cant see the result going the other way unless Geelong give up. Melbourne still has a long injury list. Geelong by 45 points.

Port Adelaide v Carlton
Carlton want to make a statement early with new coach and players. Will Judd play a pre season match? Will Port Adelaides flogging in the Grand Final haunt them. Carlton by 12 points.

Essendon v Brisbane
Brisbane should dominate at home with a superior midfield and Essendon playing young players. No Sheedy and Hird. Brisbane by 24 points.

Hawthorn v Sydney
Hawthorn will out pace Sydney who have gotten even older! Hawthorn by 12 points.

Fremantle v West Coast
Fremantle always take this pre season competition seriously while the Eagles look to introduce fresh faces with only nine premiership players playing. Fremantle by 28 points.
