Are we Just to Damn Nosey?

You can always tell when its pre season and the AFL journo’s are desperate for a story because if an AFL player breaks wind in a public place it becomes front page news and they get more attention than Brittney Spears when she shaved her head. This week the big news is North Melbourne rookie’s Majak Daw being suspended by his club, who I may add has never even played a game of AFL, let alone a pre season game.

Did you Majak Daw actually plays football and is not just a celebrity in the gossip magazines?

I ask is it time we just leave people be and stop being so damn nosey?

Yes he needed to be suspended and if you look into the recent past, suspending players (no matter their status) has always seen positive results.

You look at Steve Johnson, Ben Cousins and the clean up of West Coast’s off field culture just to name two, maybe this is what North Melbourne needs to help the club become a proper powerhouse AFL club and stop being the poor cousin down the road.

However do we need to dig into his past with a team mates girl? It is not the first time a North Melbourne player has shared his girl around and I know its not foreign among other clubs as well. Do we need to know he owes someone some money (less than $1000)? Or do we need to know he likes to party on one good knee?

No I think not, I think we only need to know he is suspended by his club, he has been naughty, the club is supporting him, giving him counseling and when his attitude is better, he will be back at Arden st.

So newspaper journo’s get a grip, report on something interesting like GWS, this years kids, can North/ Richmond/ Freo make the finals. AND the general public? Grow up, if you want to get excited about this stuff, go watch Days of our Lives or Bold and the Beautiful!
