Its time to fix the Trade Meat Market (0)

10/10/11 It is that time of the year again where clubs try and pull the wool over each other by over inflating their duds and second tier players and fans dream up stupid trades of trading out four or five duds for a star from an opposition club. Even the newspaper reporters get a little silly [...]

2011 Grand Final Discussion (0)

03/10/11 Grand Finals are a time when heroes are made, reputations are made and lost and this was such a time. The margin at the end of the game makes it look like it was not a close game but it was a classic game - in fact it is probably a good thing that the game was not close because we would then be discussing the incompetence of the umpires instead of the players who fought and left nothing on the ground.

Hawthorns 2011 Season Review (0)

29/09/11 In any other year the Hawks season would have seen them finished first but after just falling short by sleeping in half a term in a Preliminary they finished 3rd instead of playing off in a Grand Final. Since the 2008 premiership they have only played in one final series and that was a disappointing [...]

West Coast Eagles 2011 Season Review (0)

28/09/11 West Coast Eagles rise to the top four after being a wooden spoon team made them one of the stories of the year along with Tom Scully, the big marking and hopefully the Grand Final. The rise saw John Worsfold become the favourite to be sacked to one of the best coaches in the competition [...]

Musings from the 2011 Brownlow (4)

27/09/11 While I am no Collingwood fan I love the way Dane Swan plays, he reminds me of a country footballer with his tatts, solid build and when not playing football, he would fit nicely on a building site. Congratulations to Dane Swan who was favourite last year and Chris Judd won it – this year [...]

Carlton 2011 Season Review (0)

27/09/11 We now look at Carlton who in any other year would have finished top four but just missed out and it hurt them as they fell agonizingly short against West Coast in the Semi Finals by less than a kick away from Victoria. However the season was a success as the squad is building and [...]

Sydney Swans 2011 Season Review (0)

26/09/11 Every year Sydney are under estimated as a side and written off as a finals team. While they are not the prettiest and exciting team to watch at least their supporters know they will get a competitive game and the Swans will not be blown away. Adam Goodes, Jude Bolton and Ryan O’Keefe all had [...]

St Kilda’s 2011 Season Review (0)

22/09/11 The season started horribly with more controversy’s than Ben Cousins. Then they were winless after three games, Lenny Hayes did a knee and then one week after managing to scrap into the finals, they lost their coach as he was pinched in a style any pick pocket would be impressed with. Ross Lyons last public [...]

Essendons 2011 Season Review (0)

21/09/11 We are now into the top 8 for season 2011 and while Essendon were knocked out in the first week of the finals by a flogging against their arch enemy Carlton, many would see it as a successful year when Sir James Hird took over the coaching throne. With Mark Harvey sacked and Brendan McCartney [...]

North Melbourne 2011 Season Review (1)

20/09/11 After finishing 9th in 2010, expectations for Brad Scott’s North Melbourne were on the up in 2011. Sadly, it didn’t eventuate. This review is written by Reverend Shinboner a long time fan of North Melbourne and while normally he blogs on Roo Beauty, he helped us by doing a detailed review for Kick2Kick. If you [...]
