Wow what a season 2011 was for us Dreamteamers… Not only did we have the influx of cheap rookie priced players who actually played senior football (over 150) but we had to deal with the bye which took everyone a while to get the hang off but we also had the sub rule which so often cursed and robbed our emergencies and 7th spot on the forward and back line.

However I think this was a good thing as you had to research more and it was less down to luck and waxing information from everyone else.

Personally I made many mistakes like trading for Duffield instead of Broughton and Hodge instead of Mitchell mid season which cost me on average a combined 80 points a game. Sam Mitchell could also have helped me win the premiership as he was one of the few Hawks that everyone loaded up on in round 24. Lets not forget Heath Shaw who I brought in one week before he was suspended for 8 weeks.

This year Kick2Kick had two leagues and it was a success. Below lets include the final series for the two leagues. However lets congratulate the two winners bomber cyborgs and Chewy On Ya Blog!

League One Finals Series

League Two Finals Series

How did you go in Dreamteam for Season 2011

Let us know how you went, what did you do right and wrong and what trades made your year or ruined it? Did you play in one of our leagues? If so let us know your name or if you want to brag, this is the place to do it.

Craig our normal Kick2Kick Dreamteam expert has been unwell the last few weeks so I will be standing in to try and fill his huge shoes.

DREAMTEAM LEAGUE 1 ROUND 22

Germinators vs Nambucca Axemen

Germinators lost last week thanks to Nick Lower who had a shocker and his biggest mistake has to picking the Duffman instead of Broughton. Deans midfield looks very strong and the result of this side will be a flip of the coin.

LongHirdLloydGoal! vs Soaring 2011

LongHirdLloydGoal! has suffered some late season woes which may have something to do with having Lower in his side like Germinators! I think its also time he bites the bullet and trades Zac Smith, he has been amazing in his debut season but he is tired, its time to trade in Goldstein or McEvoy. Soaring also has the Smith ruck issue but he has an interesting midfield with Priddas and Rockliff two smoky Dreamteam players who most teams do not have. My money (if I bet) is on Soaring 2011…

DREAMTEAM LEAGUE 2 ROUND 22

Chewy On Ya Blog! vs Biggsy’s Bruisers

Chewy again finished the league on top spot and lost to 4th spot, just like the Kick2Kick’s first league ladder leader Germinators! Lets hope it carry’s on in the AFL finals with Collingwood.

Chewy would have won every other game with a tick under 2300 points with Zac Smith in his ruck, if he strengthens that, he should win as he only has one Geelong player who he can cover in the midfield. Biggsy’s however has two Geelong players to cover and must make a decision on other holes like Colin Sylvia, Nick Lower and Dyson Heppell.

Chewy should bounce back!

Dr Dream Team vs Still Blue’n

It is great when Dr Dream Team looses but when he looses to cheating Nick Maxwell – it is still annoying… He only lost by 23 points due to playing Nick Lower who had a stinker – however he is not the only one! The Dr needs to trade to strengthen up his defense to save himself being knocked out in straight sets. Still Blue’n needs to decide on the Zac Smith decision which will be a big decision for most Dreamteamers or does he put his faith in Warnock?

Still Blue’n is not without a chance to win this game and I know who I will be supporting…

Your Comments

If your in one of these leagues, let us know your strategy and what you are happy with and not happy with. Or you can just start trash talking your opponent!

We’re back into the League competitions with the last week before the finals which sees several people fighting for the top 8 and top 4. Make sure you read to see how you are looking as finals starts next weekend.

The big Question this week is: Why are teams still holding onto Heath Shaw when he’s done until the end of the home & away season??

DREAMTEAM LEAGUE 1 ROUND 20

Phoenix Flamingo ($1.50) .vs. CFCBack2Back ($2.62)

It’s the last chance for the Flamingos to make the top 8 in a log jam of 7 teams on 28 pts while the CFC’s try to avoid the wooden spoon.

The midfield will have some bye problems & hopes Jacobs returns. And Ablett’s absence makes it harder for the CFC’s to pull of an upset. The Flamingos, like many others, only have to worry about controlling things from their end.

Germinators ($1.50) .vs. FJCruiser Bruisers ($2.62)

Thanks a lot, luck of the draw. We’re 2 pts behind the logjam & we have to beat the rampaging Bossman for a chance to get into the top 8. But, Boyd & Ablett are out, Hodge may return (hope not) & if Jacobs doesn’t, that’s 5 short in the midfield for the Bossman.

From memory, we missed with Tippett a late out so we were stiff. Never mind, 4 trades left & we’re using at least one this week. Let’s see if we can keep up our good record of knocking off the best.

Team GSP ($1.55) .vs. Harv’s Saints ($2.46)

In the context of the finals, this is a big match. The GSP’s are on a 4-1 roll while the Saints have to be content being 6th in the bottom 8 finals. The Boyd/Ablett problem has struck the GSP’s as well as some other selection problems in the midfield. Boyd missing also leaves the Saints one short.

Another game that has other results out of GSP’s hands.

Bomber Cyborgs ($1.95) .vs. Nambucca Axemen ($1.87)

A top 4 spot is at stake & a double chance in the finals next week. The Cyborgs have shot up the table with a 4-1 run. There’s huge midfield problems for the Cyborgs with the bye & injury concerns leaving them way short. Likewise for Denao with the bye, Ablett & Scully gone. Plus, he may be forced to use an emergency forward.

This is the match of the round & vital positions are up for grabs from 3rd to possibly 8th.

Jettstar Jadey ($2.19) .vs. LongHirdLloydGoal! ($1.69)

Would you believe a loss for the Jettstars could tumble them from 6th to out of the top 8, while the LHLG’s are wondering if 3rd of 4th is better. The bye will hurt the Jettstars in the midfield more than the LHLG’s so it will come down to the survival of the fittest.

Greasy Wet Sherrin ($1.34) .vs. The Shanks ($3.27)

The draw has made it slightly easier for the Greasys to steal a top 8 spot while the Shanks want to be off the bottom of the ladder. But, the Greasys have not only the Boyd/Ablett problem but a lot of midfield selection worries & has Bickley’s game plan killed off Jacobs scoring power in the ruck?? There’s no real issues for the Shanks so is a big last round upset on the books??

A wooden spoon handover could be planned for mad Monday.

DREAMTEAM LEAGUE 2 ROUND 20

StJoeysOnslaught ($1.27) .vs. Doctors Orders ($3.82)

The team selection tattletale could be either 1st to 3rd after this week while the Doctor will finish 7th of the bottom 8.

There’s no selection dilemmas for Nick bar the Boyd/Ablett issue but if Hodge doesn’t play, he’s short in the midfield. But, while the Doctor has no problems, Nick should win easily.

Mymumluvsbigcox ($6.13) .vs. Germworks ($1.13)

The odds say it all as the Bossman looks to take a top 4 spot or settle for 5th while Big Cox takes out the wooden spoon. Enright is out for the Bossman in defence but Big Cox will be no match with more holes in his team than a crumpet.

Put ya house on the Bossman.

Zeus ($1.62) .vs. FJCruiser Bruisers ($2.30)

Geez, to get into the 8 in both leagues, I have to beat the Bossman & the Bosslady!! And the stiletto stomper can finish 6th or 7th so the result for here is nothing in therms of next week.

Enright is out & I hope the extended bench hurts her defence. Boyd is also missing so the scores for her may be down. C’monnnnnn, upset.

Judd’s Blues ($1.80) .vs. Catsman09 ($2.02)

A close game in the context of ladder positions in the bottom 8 but will the spots really change with a result in this?? But, it comes down to the Blues having a full 22 on the field & the Cats haven’t got that this week.

Dr Dream Team ($2.08) .vs. Chewy On Ya Blog! ($1.75)

C’mon the Chewys as a loss will put Cheatswell on top. Dr Dreamboat will remain 3rd no matter what the result. Dreamboat will start one short if his midfield doesn’t change & his forward line is relying on selection. There’s similar midfield problems for the Chewys but the rest looks great.

This should be a big match with a bearing on 1st .vs. 4th next week.

Your Comments

If your in one of these leagues, let us know your strategy and what you are happy with and not happy with. Or you can just start trash talking your opponent – watch Craig getting started on the Bossman and Bosslady to get into the top 8!

We’re back into the League competitions with last weeks bye & the Big Q is: Will Gary Ablett play?? Feel free to add your trash talk & discuss who you will trade to make sure you fill any gaps so you can have the bragging rights for the week.

DREAMTEAM LEAGUE 1 ROUND 17

Phoenix Flamingo ($1.71) .vs. FJCruiser Bruiser ($2.15)

Both we & the Flamingos are 3-2 in our last 5 & their percentage is still strong 1 ½ games back from the top 8.

The Flamingos have 4 Hawks in their line up with the bye while we may have an issue with Brent Harvey’s thumb. His price looks okay, but he may need to go.

We need the win with 3 teams banging on my door.

Germinators ($1.40) .vs. CFCBack2Back ($2.99)

The Bossman is on a huge roll while the CFC’s are on 0-5 Back2Back losses. The Bossman may have a midfield problem with Shiels, Callinan & maybe Ablett out. He’s relying on the selection table in the middle this week.

It’s not the type of game for the CFC’s to go 1 short in defence with the byes & Jamison gone. With Ablett in doubt, they’re in bigger trouble.

A big loss could put the wooden spoon in the CFC’s hands.

Team GSP ($1.80) .vs. LongHirdLloydGoal! ($2.02)

This could be a bookies nightmare as they still don’t rate the LHLG! after the GSP’s 4-1 tear. The GSP’s have a bye problem & some doubts on Kerr fronting up. That seems to be the only problem for a team looking for my 8th spot.

But the LHLG! midfield issues of their own with the bye, Didak & Gaff missing. It will come down to the fitter & better midfield after Sunday. This should be a grat game.

Bomber Cyborgs ($1.38) .vs. The Shanks ($3.07)

Are the Cyborgs expecting a percentage booster because the bottom placed Shanks have shocked 2 from their last 5? The Cyborgs are relying on the selectors good graces with their midfield & forward line.

The Shanks have their own good graces needed for the defence & the midfield. This could be another game of attrition as late trades, if they have any, need to be used.

Jettstar Jadey ($1.80) .vs. Harv’s Saints ($2.02)

This could be bye-bye for the top 8 if the Saints can’t get up & win this one while the Jettstars are suddenly staring down the barrel of being dumped from the top 8.

The Jettstars have relyed on Bewick as a 6th wheel in the midfield without success & now could be short up forward. The Saints come in with no issues but for the bye & that’s a minimal issue. With the log jam out of the top 8, the Jettstars could be in trouble.

Greasy Wet Sherrin ($2.06) .vs. Nambucca Axemen ($1.77)

Here we go again with one of the greatest rivalries in league history. The Greasys smell blood with the Axemen having only 1 win & no luck with injury since our epic draw.

The Greasys could have massive midfield problems with the bye & doubts on Ablett & Kerr. Meanwhile, the Axemen relying on midfield graces but the forward line could be way short with the bye & selection problems.

Again, many teams relying on survival of the fittest. This is no exception.

DREAMTEAM LEAGUE 2 ROUND 17

Louise’s Finest ($2.99) .vs. Germworks ($1.40)

The Finest are playing for pride here on in while the Bossman Mark II look finals bound if results go their way.

The bye shouldn’t be a concern for the Finest up forward & Carrazzo should return from apparent food poisoning. But, the Bossman Mark II has some midfield issues with the bye & up forward relying on selection.

Can their be an upset late in this league??

StJoeysOnslaught ($1.52) .vs. FJCruiser Bruisers ($2.54)

It’s taken until round 17 but I’ve finally got my hands on Cheatswell. Nick’s got some serious midfield problems with the bye & doubts on Ablett with no back up to speak of. We’ll make a couple of forced changes, but we have some very good & cheap players to rely on.

He isn’t unbeatable as the Bossman showed so we’ll give it a serious crack.

Zeus ($1.35) .vs. Doctors Orders ($3.52)

The stiletto stomper is looking to take a top 4 spot at the expense of the Doctor who’s avoiding the wooden spoon. The high heeled highness has bye & selection issues up forward while the Doctor is dead lucky with only the bye to worry about. But, a thin ruck division is the worry.

The bookies predict an easy win here.

Judd’s Blues ($1.94) .vs. Jobe Wan Kenobi FC ($1.87)

The Kenobi’s snatched 8th spot last round & the Juddsters have had little luck in the season.

The Juddsters have no troubles as far as selection goes while the Kenobis have issues in defence, the midfield & up forward if selections don’t turn their way with the bye & doubts playing a huge role.

How unlucky have the Juddsters been?? 149 pts separates the scores for, but there’s a 4 win difference on the ladder.

Dr Dream Team ($2.08) .vs. Germinators ($1.75)

The Bossman gave Maxwell one almighty scare & he’s out to sink the Dreamboat this weekend for sure.

Only the bye & doubts on Ablett stand between the Bossman removing the doughnut from the winning streak of the Professor of High Delusions (PHD).

MickyDees!!! ($1.89) .vs. Catsman09 ($1.92)

I want to see 2 Craigs in the top 8 so the Cats need to win their last 3 to have any chance. He’s a huge chance with the Dees having lots of byes & no replacements. But, the Cats may have forward line problems even though Selwood returns this weekend in the midfield.

This one is more than just survival of the fittest, but survival of the selected.

Your Comments

If your in one of these leagues, let us know your strategy and what you are happy with and not happy with. Or you can just start trash talking your opponent – watch Craig getting started on Nick Maxwell who everyone wants to defeat!
