@Shugo and Deano, yes the Hawks and Dogs did shop those players around but the question must be asked about the value or cost they had on them. I know the Hawks was not accepting anything less than a 2nd round pick for Thorp and that is probably why no one took a nibble...

Its similar as the Magpies offering a 3rd and 6th round for Luke Ball, gone are the days when you can pull the wool over a club (Freo have smarten up).

"The Bulldogs did this with their delistings of Wayde Skipper, Paul O’Shea & Cameron Wight. They told them they will try and find homes for them during the trade week. Richmond and Melbourne told Russel Robbertson, Nathan Brown & Mark Coughlan about their futures before the season finished."

And how much good did this do for these particular players? I don't think any of them found new homes did they? All this did was prove to other clubs that these blokes are no longer of any value. The AFL is a business now and players are used as currency. What would Geelong's bargaining power have been with Kane Tenace during trade week if they had come out and admitted that he was not a required player. There is a certain amount of smoke and mirrors type action that has to happen, clubs have to pretend that their players are worth something in the HOPE of gaining any sort of valuable commodity from them.
