great post...I agree with big guns...often names like judd, wells, etc are exciting players but are not accumulators.....Simon Black over the the years has been a real 'Top Gun' for me and just look at his Brownlow polling.

"Aker's" price is down, yes he's a year older, but if he plays as good or better, his shorter price is worth the risk.

Agree that Woewodin was probably the worst brownlow however he did have a good year in 2000 and he is a gero boy (my home town)...

Surprised by you naming Aker as a forward you would choose, guess he is a bit of a "cherry picker" and he does like to kick.

re jermayn & other forwards.
for star prices can't go past Steve Johnson, "Aker" or sneaking Brent Harvey.

Luckiest Brownlow winner breathing!! Are you for real, the guy wins contested footy, runs and carries, is near perfect by hand and foot and kicks goals, what more do you want, for him to leap buildings in a single bound. He is the best midfielder in a team that was a couple of kicks away from a grand final. Lucky my balls... If shane woewodin is not the worst brownlow winner of all time i don't know who is...

Yes, I do have the "experts handbook", but it's a quick & easy guide to every players price. Alot quicker than clicking a mouse several times.

Thanks for your post Craig, definitely has helped me as I pick my team.

I like the thought of doing your forwards first...
When I first choose my side i did the defenders first especially these days with heaps of possessions in the backline.

For the argument Buddy vs Roughead who lays more tackles (4 points)? I know Buddy probably gives away more free kicks (-3 points) but he does kick more goals. I went for Pavlich as my main forward target, as he plays midfield and tends to get 20+ possessions a game. What are some other forwards???

I also like the idea of saving your trades for the last 10 rounds as thats when you need to make your move.

Also find it interesting that you say not to pick Ablett, Cooney etc and the other top midfielders, I have picked both Ablett & Cooney.

Lastly you say not to listen to the 'experts' but you have the experts handbook??
