The big question of 2010 has been raised by Cats forward Cameron Mooney & that is how long can the so called premiership window remain open?
The Cats have the 3rd easiest draw of 2010 (0.477) behind the Saints & the Crows. Their 2009 playing list averages 1195 points with a price tag of $312,800 each.

James Podsiadly has been talked up as a possible cash cow as he is more than likely to be upgraded from the rookie list. Is he on your team?
Best Buys
Gary Ablett (midfield) $522,000 – It’s absolutely ridiculous that Ablett could be No 2 in the price list & that makes him the midfield bargain of the season. Ablett averaged 118.8 points, 0.3 less than Dane Swan. Ablett racked up an amazing 40 disposals 6 times in 2009 with a career high 46 disposals & 33 handballs .vs. Adelaide in round 4.
Ablett was ranked 1st in handballs, disposals per game & handballs per game, 2nd in Dreamteam score per game & 5th in Dreamteam score.
Jimmy Bartel (midfield) $480,200 – The 3rd most expensive Cats player, but worth more to your budget than Paul Chapman. Bartel averaged 109.3 in 2009. Bartel racked up 30 or more disposals 6 times in 2009 including the 41 disposals & 25 kicks .vs. Melbourne.
He was ranked 3rd in Dreamteam score, 6th in Dreamteam score per game, 7th in tackles, 11th in disposals & tackles per game, 12th in kicks, 14th in disposals per game, 16th in marks & 17th in kicks per game.
Joel Corey (midfield) $468,800 – It’s going to be impossible to fit all the Cats superstar midfield into one team, but Corey is another option averaging 106.6 points in 2009. Corey racked up 30 or more disposals 6 times in 2009 with a career high of 39 disposals & 27 handballs .vs. Western Bulldogs in round 21.
Corey was ranked 5th in disposals per game, 7th in disposals & handballs per game, 9th in Dreamteam score per game, 10th in Dreamteam score, 15th in tackles per game, 16th in inside 50s & 17th in tackles.
Corey Enright (defence) $394,300 – Enright averaged 89.7 points in 2009 & racked up 30 or more disposals 3 times with an equal career high 21 handballs .vs. St Kilda in the Etihad Classic.
Enright ranked 12th in disposals, 14th in kicks & 19th in Dreamteam score. Arguably a better bargain thus far than the previous above mentioned.
James Kelly (defence) $372,900 – Kelly averaged 84.9 in 2009 & racked up a career highs of 37 disposals & 21 handballs .vs. Nth Melbourne in round 8. Kelly can also be selected in the midfield.
Matthew Scarlett (defence) $287,200 – Scarlett averaged 65.4 in 2009, but with the retirement of Tom Harley, Scarlett may have to be more of the “General” leading from the front.
He showed us some glimpses of this with 2 lots of 30 disposals or more last season that included a career high 21 handballs .vs. Fremantle in round 22.
Risky Best Buys
Tom Gilles (defence) $141,300 – Gilles was thrown in the Lions den, literally, with the “resting” of almost half the side after the 6 point loss to St Kilda. Averaged 32.2 points for his time on the ground, but did have 13 disposals .vs. Western Bulldogs. Could he be the filler with the retirement of Tom Harley?
James Podsiadly (forward) $77.800 – Ok, “Pods” is a mystery to me, but he’s going to get a game or ten & has all the hype following him. Caps will be tight this season & I’m sure I’ll take “Pods” with another mystery forward I’ll reveal later. If “Pods” fails, I’ll blame Mollyfud.

Your Feedback
Will you be having any Geelong players in your Dreamteam this year? Are you adding Ablett or you going for someone else? If so who will it be?
