Some big injury news this week with Jarrad Waite out for the year and an ongoing groin injury (that is not OP) to Shaun Higgins will see many Dream team coaches forced for a few trades this week. Also the biggest question on every ones lips is who do you make captain?

Its rather obvious to trade Waite so we will not dwell too much on that.

Time to trade Higgins as a Cash Cow

Higgins is currently worth nearly $330, 000 which is a season increase off roughly $180, 000, even if he plays this weekend against Sydney he will struggle like he did last weekend against the Cats. Groin injuries are very limitating and if he comes back in a few weeks, he may be forced to spend more time up forward. Last week he only 51, which is well below a break even score. Its time to trade.

Captain Choices: Judd, Gibbs, Cox, Ablett or someone else?

Last week I was a good example of how a poor choice of a captain can cost you a game. I lost against Mandurah Mob by 44 points and if I had gone with my gut and chosen Ablett instead of Cox, I would have won instead.

Judd & Gibbs play the West Coast Eagles and the Eagles are near the top for most 100 point games  by the opposition, they average nearly two 100 point scores a game. Judd & Gibbs may be worthy of a captain choice hear. Judd also is playing his old side, extra incentive?

Cox played very average last week and still got a better than most people score of 91. He has only ever scored under 100 twice and is playing Carlton who lack a quality ruckman. Personally a great first choice ruckman but im off the Cox train for captain (he cost me a win last week).

Ablett should almost be the no brainer for captain every week. First game back and a good solid score of 125 odd. He has a good Dream Team average score against Essendon so expect another score of 120+.

Other choices for captains could be Chad Cornes (quite few weeks) and Swan who always gets heaps of the ball.

The Germinators trades & Captain for Round 10

I have got sick of Shannon Hurn who imo is a tease and should be used much more out of defense by the Eagles and to me Higgins is too much of a risk especially with my forward line under performing.

1. I traded Hurn ($251,700) for Broughton ($75,300)
2. I then used the money I got from Hurn ($176,400) to trade Higgins ($328,700) and upgrade to Johnson ($437,500)

My captain choice is Ablett who unless he gets injured again will almost be my captain by default.
