Mid Season Drafts were largely unsuccessful with only two in the last 20 years. The first was in 1990 and the last in the 1993 season which saw 31 players being added to AFL lists including five current AFL players switching clubs which were James Theissen, Damian Bourke, Dale Kickett, Brad Fox and Stephan Crochrane.

However lets have some fun with a Phantom mid season draft on how we can improve our AFL team. This follows an article by Collingwoods Nick Maxwell asking for it to return were he uses Cain Ackland and last years Collingwood player Ben Davies as examples on who could benefit from the system.

I will start it off:
Nick Davis to Adelaide Crows, St Kilda or Carlton. Both of those teams still in the hunt for finals could do with another option for goals.
