The season reports are in ladder position they finished so first up we had Melbourne Demons who finished 16th, then Richmond Tigers, Fremantle Dockers, North Melbourne, Sydney Swans and yesterday the West Coast Eagles. If you would like to do up a report on any other team, please contact us and please comment below on what you think our of our review.

Port had many times when they simply could only scratch their had in wonder at what happened.
Year It Was
- Finished: 10th with 9 wins and 88.68%
- Kick2Kick Season Prediction: 6th –11th
What Went Right
The captaincy being passed onto Dominic Cassisi from Warren Tredrea was the best thing that happened to the club all year. It meant Tredrea could focus on his football in his last year or two and he kicked almost 50 goals. And Dominic became a source of inspiration and stability which was very rare in the club in the last two years.
What Went Wrong
Port Adelaide in the SANFL league is a very very successful and stable club but the AFL club is the oppositite, maybe its the flogging they received from Geelong back in the 2007 Grand Final but the cold and hot form from one quarter to the next is a real cultural issue that needs to be sorted.
You would think the coach Williams resigning would be a cause for celebration but even after the numerous meetings and signing the club was not a happy place. Their form was still up and down and even the players do not seem happy about the signing.
Player(s) that Stepped Up
Dominic Cassisi stepped up to be an inspirational captain along with Tredrea winding the clock back. The real shinning light was the younger next generation players that stepped up as they take the mantle over the 2004 premiership side.

Warren Tredrea had his best season since his knee & form issues since 2004
Hamish Hartlett, Matthew Broadbent, Travis Boak, Alipate Carlile, Robbie Gray, Nathan Krakouer and Nick Salter and former Geelong-listed midfielder Jason Davenport all showed enough.
Trade Bait/ Goodbye’s
Brendon Lade has been there since the beginning and with Peter Burgoyne & Toby Thurstans it could be the year where several players are baited for trade or delisted. Personally I would say that almost the whole list is trade-able if the price is right.
- Shaun Burgoyne – had a bad year and has trade bait potential
- Josh Carr – Had a year to forget including his 200th when injured before he could make an impact.
- Brett Ebert – Another who has declined since his goal misses in the 2007 Grand Final
- Danyle Pearce – Struggles when tagged and a change of scenery could help.
- David Rodan – Inconsistent like many of his team mates.
- Steven Salopek – Again injuries have not been kind this year missing 6 games.
Improvement Needed by
Justin Westhoff has the talent as shown in his breakout 2007 year but since has not shown it, had abroken fot this year and a big pre season is on the cards. Salopek if he stays on the list is also in need of a big year.

One word sums up Port Adelaide’s Season for me.
FAILURE!
Mark Williams should not still be there, and they need a serious cupboard cleanout and dump most of those players mentioned above.
should have been so much better this year and i admit cheerfully that they were dismal at best

A lot like Richmond, need to do more than get rid of players…
