Kick2Kick League Grand Final Review
(1) Germinators 1,980 def (4) Bomber cyborgs 1,703
Injury, suspension & players rested absolutely ruined the Grand Final for the top 8. Germayn had 10 players of a possible list of 30 out – 2 suspended & 3 rested. Swan & Ablett were brilliant in the middle, Franklin was fantastic up forward & should’ve got more points from free kicks. They were supported by Goddard in defence & Pavlich up forward.
Amaazingly, Sean had 9 out of 30 gone for the same reasons in an almost idendtical team. Make that 10 if you count Sam Fisher going down with that hamstring injury. Sean lost 293 points from last week.
(9) Half Back Flanker 2,111 def (11) Chardy’s Champs 1.388
With a handful of stars out, the Flankers were able to wipe the floor with the Champs with Goddard, Kelly & Doughty holding the defence together, a surprise packet in Brennan joining the ususal suspects in Swan & Ablett in the middle & a combination of Franklin & Rioli starring up forward.
The Champs had their defence & midfield decimated by the dreaded “resting” bug, but the forwards in Harvey, Giansiracusa & Rioli put up a fight.
It’s such a shame that the game has come to the dreaded “rest”. All I can say is if the players want the big bucks in the new rights, then get out & bloody play. But, unfortunately, our game is being “Americanized” & there’s nothing any of us can do about that.

Hi Craig, and thanks very much for your reviews and previews over the year. They were very entertaining. I always looked forward to reading them each week. Hope to battle it out again with all you guys and girls next year.
All the best,
