Shaun Higgins has been battling a groin & after two weeks rest, he still looked limited. So do we trade him or keep him?

It’s about time the AFL had some transparency in team selections. My team was decimated this week with 3 late withdrawals. Lewis Roberts-Thompson & Mark LaCras obviously had no chance of playing & Jason Gram had a “thigh injury” but gathered 31 touches in the VFL. Betting agencies have to check for betting discrepancies so why not selection types. What’s your view? Or is it just a case of sour grapes?
Also, would you take a risk on any of these players? For one, Justin Sherman is on fire.

Dream Team Wars
Ariana’s “Royal Knights” defeated Johnnytruent’s “Diamond12” in the first of the Derby’s by 160 points.

Ryan Okeefe has bounced back with several solid scores after a quite start to year.
In what was mostly a team of consistency without being outstanding, Gary Ablett was her best along with Ryan O’Keefe, Adam Selwood & Matthew Scarlett again proving the Dream Team theories about his style all wrong. Would have to be disappointed this week with the performances of Chris Judd, Jimmy Bartel plus the forward line seemed a bit down.
But, she got the win after “Diamond12” scored well with Nick Maxwell thought playing the ball was better than breaking jaws & Jordan Lewis was his usual high scoring self. Is the Cale Morton shock appearing to be over?
Deano’s “Nambucca Axemen” went down to “Arthur’s Mongrels” by 195 points.
It appears playing short has finally caught up with Deano though Lewis, Joel Selwood, Ryan Griffen & Patrick Ryder were his best. Kyle Cheney was left out on Friday, Shaun Higgins may be done for 6 weeks & a five man forward line does not be help.
Jermayn’s “Germinators” went down in a bookmakers upset by 44 points to “Mandurah Mob”.
Only Ablett, Griffen & Joel Corey stood up for Jermayn & with a couple of extra carriages attached to my train, we had some extra passengers (had to throw that one in, mate).
And in the 2nd Derby, Michael’s “Dorkers” beat me (“Izzacland”) by 151 points. What could’ve been for me after being forced to play 3 short due mostly to late withdrawals.
Michael’s midfield was impressive with Selwood, Corey, Tarkyn Lockyer & Justin Sherman all carrying the load. Heath Scotland & Krakouer pulling out might not have helped matters, but congrats all the same to Michael.
Things were dire at “Izzacland” on the weekend. Had to make 2 forced changes, 2 emergencies covering 2 more losses & then we had 3 withdrawals. How the Hawks dropped Stuart Dew is beyond me. If Franklin was stuck on the “Atlantis”, he’d be playing.
Next week, Ariana’s “Royal Knights” & Deano’s “Nambucca Axemen” play off in the game of the week while, in another Derby, Jermayn’s “Germinators” face Michael’s “Dorkers”.
Meanwhile, Johnny’s “Diamond12” plays “Arthur’s Mongrels” & “Izzacland” plays the “Mandurah Mob”, who I hope Jermayn softened up for us.

arrggghhhhh…. all week I was debating whether to have Ablett or Cox as captain, ended up going with Cox who got 91 and Ablett got 126 odd. If I had gone with Ablett I would be with an extra 50-60 points and would have won my last game against “Mandurah Mob”.
Think its also time to trade Higgins, do not think he will increase much more especially with his dodgy groin that looks to be needing a few more weeks off.
I also traded Collingwoods, Thomas for Buddy and he also a 90 odd which was a good score for him. Think Buddy will only increase as the year goes on.
I think I had something like 12 or something players that scored between 30-70, which absolutely killed my team.
Few weeks ago I traded Ebert WC (had some $ left over) for Griffen and he got a good score so that was a good pick up.

haven’t made a change in two weeks and i won’t for another four. injuries have killed me and i made too many trades early on. i put it down to being a DT ‘virgin’ and will not make the same mistakes next time around. i’m hoping to get to a 5/5 record and make a run at you ‘top guns’ in the last 6 weeks of the season.

Yeah Im also afraid im making too many trades as well…
I have 12 left and im also a DT ‘virgin’ and I think next year I will probably do aalso a lot better. How many trades you have left?

i have 10, i made the stupid move of trading guys like urquhart because he was out of form, in future i will save my trades for injuries only. and of course now urquhart is killing it.

@Deano I think this is where the bench is important and to use it when someone is out of form. ie: I placed C Brown on the bench as he has only averaged 40 odd this year….
