The season reports are in ladder position they finished so first up we had Melbourne Demons, Richmond Tigers, Fremantle Dockers, yesterday North Melbourne and today the Sydney Swans. If you would like to do up a report on any other team, please contact us, please comment below on what you think our of our review.

Goodes at CHF was a match winning move during the season & I would like him to see him finish his career there.
Year It Was
- Finished: 12th with 8 wins and 93.14%
- Kick2Kick Season Prediction: 9th –12th
What Went Right
Depending on were you sit, Barry Hall retiring from Sydney could have been a good thing or a bad thing. I am focusing on the good of Hall leaving the Swans. Jesse White improved in the second half of the season getting the round 22 NAB nomination and with him and Goodes playing forward they look to have sorted out the question who would fill in the role of O’Loughlin & Hall down forward.
Lewis-Thompson looks likely to also fill in Leo Barry’s spot down back. The biggest worry was where the next batch of players would come from, However a bunch lifted in the second half of the season when finals was out of the question. Grundy, Barlow, Bird and Hannebery all showed enough that if Kirk and the others can stick around for another year or two, the transition will be ok.
What Went Wrong
Barry Halls continual brain snaps saw the end of the famous “Blood Code of no Idiots“, If Sydney are to stay ahead of the new West Sydney side, they need to re-invent the code and keep it alive past the era of Kirk & Bolton.
They missed out on 12th spot by 0.17% to West Coast Eagles, in the last 3 years the best picks in the National Draft have been from number 7. 2007 - Joel Selwood, 2008 – Rhys Palmer & 2009 – Daniel Rich.
Player(s) that Stepped Up
The above mentioned young players stepped up along with Kirk, Craig & Jude Bolton and Rhyce Shaw was a bolter who had the most bounces and was unlucky not to be included in the AFLs All Australian squad.
Trade Bait/ Goodbye’s
Barry Hall, Tadhg Kennelly (may come back), Leo Barry, Jared Crouch, Nic Fosdike, Brendan Murphy (home sick Irish) & Michael O’Loughlin have all said goodbye.
The list of trade baits is also slim so if they trade it would be using draft picks and not players.
Improvement Needed by
Luke Ablett, Paul Beaven, Amon Buchanan & Patrick Veszpremi have all been over take by some of the young guns and while Patrick still has youth on his side, Ablett, Beaven & Buchanan however have been around for a few years (played in the grand finals) and must step up from a bit player to a solid A or B grade player.

wow is all i can say.
the end of an era and the changing of the guard up here in the First State. New South Wales AFL has said goodbye to some champions of the game. and then there is big bad Barry. Will he or will he not play again?
I tell you who will be the excitement machine next year big Jesse White. didnt he show something amazing out there late.
One thing Sydney need to do is get invlolved big time in the Community of NSW and show that they are a organized, proffessional and Family Friendly team and in time (with all the Rugby League dramas) they will see AFL gain ascendancy in Rugby League Heartland.
and if all goes well then i shall be seeing alot more of the Swannies next year as i hope to be able to become a member
(dont worry Deano, not turning my back on the Doggies just want to watch some footy)

Do they not do that already? or just in the ‘wealthy’ suburbs? I do think that the League’s bad year could be very beneficial for AFL in NSW. lets hope it all goes good.
Interested to see that Sydney will trade Barry Hall. Kinder funny that first of, they did not want him but now he is looking to play next year, they want to trade him for picks…

honestly i am sure they do something. but i live in the shire and frequently visit the western suburbs and the Swans are non existant. they do not do enough and they should be looking to capitalise on the NRL’s shocking year which is still dragging on.
i would not be suprised honestly if the dogs do pick up hall for next year. i dont want us to, but i have a feeling it just might happen.

I think the Dogs could do better than Hall. I think Staker would be a better decision. He is younger (25-26), would have just the same amount of impact and he can play in more positions than what Hall could. Staker has played forward, back and in the midfield…
